  1. Morning All, Cloudy and dreary in these parts. Not a lot happening and with a creaking back no chance of me screwing all day or banging on the ceiling (unlike some of our number). Ally Pally is a distinct possibility. Did someone mention beer? Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  2. Heck that's an old Beagle! Glad to hear something positive happening for you at last Mick. Morning All. Sun is shining so time to go and squirt some paint I think. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  3. Morning All, Not looking overly bright out there despite the weatherman predicting otherwise. Been missing in action for a while as I seem to have been playing rather a lot of golf (eben wid a gold). I'm just off to play 18 this morning and that will be the 6th round in 7 days! Who said I'm obsessive? Apparently it's Friday. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  4. Morning All, Cloudy. A whipper snapper. 105? You're being optimistic then. Happy Birthday Mike. Cheers Dave
  5. Nah, that was a SAR Garret. Cheers Dave (looking good Gordon)
  6. You mean there's a cock-up on the ###### front? Cheers Dave Morning All
  7. Morning All, Brrr, it's all white outside! What happened? Last nights snow looks to be melting already. One expects no less in Hampshire. Have a good Friday all. Cheers Dave
  8. Morning All, Not sure about all this stopping the world business, wouldn't we all just fall off rather than getting off? In fact maybe it's the opposite and we would weigh more due to the absence of centrifugal effects. Yesterdays plans all went awry as the golf course was closed due to the freezing and thawing over the last few days. Perhaps the world has ended! Not really much to complain about in my world as can be seen. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  9. Morning All, The dusting of snow we had yesterday evening is now a slushy mess. Normal for Suvern Ampshire. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave Earworm of the day: Che Gelida Manina (Your tiny hand is frozen). Somewhat appropriate!
  10. Morning Afternoon All, I fear I have lost my sanity. Twas -9C on the golf course when I teed off at 8.30 this morning. Absolutely barking! No woodburner and no fish in the pond in these parts. Have just removed a dead rat from one of the bird feeders where Annie Oakley (SWMBO) gave it a serious dose of lead poisoning earlier. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  11. Actually a rather nasty shade of yellow! Should I be concerned? Cheers Dave
  12. Morning Afternoon All, Sorry to hear things still aren't going your way Mick. Gotta be your turn soon! The golf club I'm a member of obviously encourages lunatics. There were 30 nutters stood around at 8.15 watching the snow fall waiting to tee off! Certainly it's the first time I've played golf while it's snowing! Luckily it cleared up and the sun came out after a few holes. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  13. Morning All, Although Tony may have been framed it seems they could see through him! Off to Southampton exhibition shortly followed by a spot of lunch and a session of playing trains. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  14. Morning All, I am an early riser honest. In fact today I was up at 2.30 to take daughter to A&E with kidney pains. Didn't get back to bed till 6.30 and have only just got round to things computer. Daughter is now back at hospital having scans looking for suspected kidney stones. Not the most restfull of nights sleep. Hey ho. Kids, who'd have 'em? Always tough when the subject of cancer rears its head. The folks I know who have been there seem to appreciate the opportunity to be open about it with someone or everyone. Seems to be more difficult for the non-sufferer to ask than for the suffer to talk about it. It's a big part of modern life so I guess we should get used to it and try and master our fears. Cheers Dave
  15. That really is going to look the dog's whassanames Gordon. Great progress even if there are frustrations along the way. Cheers Dave
  16. Morning All, It's raining an miserabubble outside with a full set of leaking oktas! It's about time to wander down to the railway shed. No doubt the umbrella, railway shed commuting for the use of, will be in the shed. Why is it that umbrellas are magically at the wrong end of every journey? Is it to do with worm holes, black holes or some such phenomena? Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  17. Even without the railway that's quite some "backyard"!! Cheers Dave
  18. I think that is probably more information than I need on a Sunday morning! Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  19. Who the heck brought up the subject of pension funds? Grrr, mutter, mumble. Would have posted earlier today but my machine picked up the Strathclyde police virus so I have spent a number of happy(!) hours getting the bloomin' thing working again. Don't you just love these low-lifes that create viruses to lock you out of your computer. Can't imagine why I adjourned to the pub... Cheers Dave (not having the best of days but still in much better shape than many)
  20. Thankfully I have no holes in any of my balls! Mind you it is disconcerting when they freeze to the putting surface. Cheers Dave (Fetching coat, scarf and gloves)
  21. Better than smelling where he's been! Cheers Dave (just thawing out after a morning on a frozen golf course)
  22. Nice work Pete. Looks a bit Nessish. Cheers Dave (now thawing out after spending the morning on a frozen golf course)
  23. Morning All, Clear and bright in these parts. Apparently it's Friday! Glad to hear medical and other situations are generally improving. Hasn't been much to report of late. In fact there still isn't. 3 month old phone has gone phutt and refuses to power on today so it looks like a walk into town to the O2 shop is on the cards. Mutter mumble... Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  24. Morning All, The wind seems to have eased and it isn't (currently) raining. Skies are fairly clear so it is a bit on the chilly side but thankfully nothing like Pete's -12C! Might venture out at some point today but as the staff are at home this morning she may have other ideas and plans for my time. I did cross a couple of things off the list yesterday but only the things that took me 5 minutes tops. Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
  25. Morning All and Happy New Year, Apparently it's a working day today. The golf planned for today has been cancelled. Something to do with the horizontal rain! A "list" seems to have been compiled by the domestic staff while thay have been off work over the holiday period. As it is on a nice new electronic jotting tablet (one of my presents!) I suppose I could hit the erase button by mistake... Have a good one all. Cheers Dave
