Good evening Garry,
The original body version would be suitable for the period that you are modelling.
Hope that helps.
Best Regards
AlexHi Alex,
Thank you very much for your reply and clarification.
I shall await the preorder book opening for the original version then.

Hi,
Could someone help me please.
Which versions of the HAA would have been running in the late 70s to 80s.
Would it have been the railfreight red version on this batch or the original version on the following batch.
I remember living in a house when I was younger adjecent to the wcml and you could feel the floor vibrating from them.

If you haven't yet had enough of 365games and purple A4s they have a single one in stock at £113 so you might actually get this one if you order it.
https://www.365games.co.uk/model-kits/Hornby-br-a4-class-4-6-2-walter-k-whigham-era-4-model-train
Saw that earlier too.
However id rather spend the extra £17 and support a proper model shop after trying twice to purchase from these guys only for them to keep cancelling.

I ordered this a bit ago when it was a similar price.
Despite the B1 picture I did receive a Q6 so go off description.
They got them transposed, if you search for B1 then you get a picture of a Q6 on one of the results.

You have made my day. I was waiting for this at a good price. Breaks my policy of only buying kettles still in existence but I really wanted this one because I like the colour.
Says allow 10 days before dispatch though so could get pulled? I have bought from these before OK.
Been wanting this too, thanks to original poster.
If you search on Hornby there are a few items at good prices like some 87s at around the £130 mark

I have just been into Bourton Model Railway Shop and they have the Hornby Class 800 test train (R3579 and R4897, both limited edition of 500) for a bundle price of £395. Cheaper than buying separately and I aren't aware of anywhere with both on stock either let alone a bundle price for both.
I was tempted...
And for those that cannot get to the shop, a link :-)https://www.bourtonmodelrailway.co.uk/p/Hornby-r3579-hitachi-iep-bi-mode-class-8000-r4897-coach-pack

For the love of all that is holy, will you PLEASE take your asinine drivel to wheeltappers. Or the Daily Mail comments section. Somewhere. Anywhere. I don't care where. This thread - and I think this may have been pointed out before - is for bargains.
Dapol N gauge 28XX/38XXs for £79.50.
I repeat: N gauge.
who threw you nuts !!
one thing, in the morning when you get up, get out of bed on the right side this time !ill also introduce you to the delete key, its your friend !
I love the irony of you using the word drivel in your own post.- 1

The Vulcan bomber/class 37 set works out to £150.....that’s really good value, and I want it....but at the moment we are having a new boiler fitted.......I really would get murdered if I bought a bargain this week
You dont need a new boiler until winter, it will only sit there doing nothing for months lol

Am i missing something as the model in the artwork and Stuarts Picture is different to the model in Andys pictures.
Andys photo shows a device on the cab roofs where as Stuarts picture and the artwork do not.

I came home the other day to find about a dozen notifications from this thread.
I Went through them and not one was a bargain, it was an amazon discussion.
It took me 5 seconds to remove the unwanted/not interested notifications which is better than endless discussions on the same point over and over again.
5 seconds email admin v’s days and days of discussion........ im sure im not alone thinking there are more important things to worry about.
You’ve missed a bargain, so have I in the past, it can be annoying but its not the end of the world, something else will turn up.

I was thinking about the format of this thread following on from newbryford's reminder regarding its purpose. Personally, I recently missed out on the Lionheart deal which I thought was absolutely fantastic. I know that I looked at the latest updates on the page on the day, however I didn't check back on the thread later on. The main reason for that was because all of the updates to the thread were around the subtleties of the Amazon pricing algorithm, none of which contained a bargain and to be honest with you I got a bit fed up with checking back constantly as it felt like people would just keep posting along those lines for the rest of the day.
We are getting to a similar position again now. The odd poster is putting up individual items, but the majority are from the same location - Ellis Clark and Hereford Models. Thats great, but in amongst that there are various posts on items that people have had (including the Lionheart models), opinions on whether something is a bargain or not (including myself in that!) and queries over postage charges for individual suppliers, to name a few.
Is anyone here familiar with the site hotukdeals? I can't help but feel that the format there would greatly help the content of this thread. This question is really addressed to a moderator, but in essence would there be a possibility to have a dedicated section of the forum to bargains akin to the Modelling Questions, Hints and Tips that this thread sits in now? When a bargain is found, people just simply start a new thread within that section and any discussions or feedback from that bargain is contained within that specific thread. Then, the core topic at the top remains the bargain, and this can be edited by the original poster should they wish to add any further bargains, along with the discussion below.
For example - you would have a Ellis Clark thread started by the original poster who posted the link to it initially. Then, any discussion on bargains from that page, or any links to bargains from that site would all be contained there. They wouldn't be in the thread dedicated to, Hattons, for instance, so you are not having to trawl through pages and pages of comments not related to bargains - you can literally just go to individual threads and find what you need. Likewise, you wouldn't receive notifications for threads that you didn't want to follow, such as the `A. Oakes is no-where near where I live so why are you posting about it' brigade. The threads will rise and fall as and when new bargains are posted.
What do others think of this?
To follow your logic maybe you should start a separate thread to discuss further as all you have done now is open up a big discussion point which will cloud the bargains further on this and perpetuate what you are trying to avoid.Just a thought.
Personally im happy with the way things are and having multiple threads will surely increase the risk of missing bargains . So your idea doesnt work for me.

Finally, got an order in.
Its taken at least 12 attempts to log on, several attempts to complete the order and 2 attempts to pay.
Dont use reload or back page, it confuses it, just sit out the whirly things on the screen and eventually goes through.
Taken me nearly an hour
