How are thoughs Mount Blue kits? I have never made a wood kit before and was thinking about getting something from them. Any tips?
I can also see a steel cab climax in the background. I envy you as I just can't find one for a reasonable price.

maybe lol
that is number 6, and it WAS a Forney!
Oh, I see. I suppose you would need to with the sharp curves on the layout.
My Forney's restrict the minimum radius on my layout. But I like them as they are! Besides, at the price they are to get with sound (even if they are reduced), I don't think I would be able to cut the bunker off anyway!

Very nice, I was just looking at my 4-4-0 today, with its steel cab.
I havent got round to lettering mine, so I cant weather it just yet.
Can I see a Forney with a capped stack on the last photo?

Now thats the kind of weathering that I like! Just right for a working loco, no mud splattered anywhere etc., just not clean. My 2-8-0 is in pretty much the same state.

I really like the idea of the transhipment shed haven't seen that before, the railway was kind to its workers :-)
I'd love to know what size it is and I'm quite sure that Carl Arendt would too>
Jim
Thanks Jim. The layout is 24.5" x 13", so it really is quite small.
The transhipment shed was an idea that I had after walking along a canal between Uppermill (Which isn't far from Middlemill... ) and Standedge Tunnel. The reason for it was to transfer goods from the railway to the canal to be taken further. When the standard gauge railway arrived and was clearly a better way of moving the goods from then on, hence the sorry state of the transhipment shed today.
I am a regular visitor on Carls site, so I do plan to contact him when its finished. His site had a very big influence in me wanting to build a micro layout.

Have you thought about removing the moulded handrails and cutting part of the tender off the bottom?
Or what if you cut and shunt the frames to make them lower?

Nice 2-6-0, I thought you might have the new one with front coupling.
I hope what your making it into isn't Irish, and is a Leek and Manifold engine. As On30 is 2' 6" gauge like the L&M. Also, the look much better.
