  1. I-Tunes is throwing out some decent stuff at the minute including Big Country - Steeltown, Joe Jackson - Blaze of Glory and The Verve Urban Hymns Thank the Lord SWMBO hasn't got her playlists on or we'd be getting THe Bee Gees, Brittany Spears and The SugarBabes!! Regards D
  2. Don't really need anything else Nick but I'd love it as a app with a little RMweb button on myain screen! Just because I could!!! The same as the Trainline app and Sky Sports news which are slimmed down versions of the main sight but load quicker with the most used bits on! Regards Dave
  3. The layout is ready as is the stock and I've just managed to figure out how to blog from my iPhone so I might do a hour by hour blow by blow exhibition diary this weekend!!! Ps Is anyone going to develop an RMweb app Regards Dave
  4. Hi jim Saw Moor Street was there and wondered if you'd be going! Come and chat but let us get over the Satirday morning gremlins first though!!! No pressure now then!!! Best Regards Dave
  5. Hi Peter thanks for the comments - the parts crates are A1 models, a bit fiddly to solder together but well worth it when they're done! Can't remember how much they are but only a couple of quid a pack of 5 if I remember correctly! I've got a load more half done to go on the back of a Bedford TK as a delivery of parts includind brake shoes and coupling links!
  6. Hi As we are at Leeds this weekend (and off to the Lakes for a couple of days from tomorrow - Great timing!!) Thought it was about time to get Thorne Yard out of storage and rectify the little list of jobs to do after its last exhibition at Thirsk!! Also I've been working on a couple of new bits for the show - Namely a Backscene (so we can hide!) And a factory back to hide the backscene!! Well the work is 90% done so I've grabbed a couple of snaps! (sorry about the poor quality but the big camera is away for a service with me being off work for a week!) I'll post some more when I get the time before during and after the exhibition! Regards Dave
  7. Hi Josh As a complete and utter blue diesel man I have to admit that I know what you mean! It doesn't look out of place at all and as the layout is fairly run down with no modern buildings perhaps we might exhibit it as a steam/diesel transition layout 1 day!!! Can you get a WD chip? Regards Dave
  8. Hello All Just as a quick test to ensure I can upload images I thought I'd post a few of the latest loco of the workbench - A weathered Bachmann 2-8-0 No. 90566 for a client that made a brief visit to Thorn Yard to ensure the running was correct and to pose for Photographs!!! Regards Dave
  9. Hi Guys Great to be back on line. So as I've re-registered and set up a blog I thought I'd write something and let you know what you may see over the coming months! I've been on here on the previous forum as DaveC46026 so you may well have seen my various threads on there - Thorne Yard being my layout, more of which to come later, but also bits and bobs from my workbench and my local club Darlington MRC! If you've not seen Thorne Yard or its thread - The layout is a 4mm 16.5mm gauge representation of a departmental Yard in the Midlands around 1983. It has hand built track and is DCC operated with all locos on it sound chipped! So far I've taken it to Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Thirsk, but very shortly its off to Leeds, then Blyth, Rainhill and several more exhibitions for 2010 (I presume that this is because I'm cheap and is no reflection on the quality of the layout!) My real interest is the BR Blue period, around the time I grew up spotting then bashing and I have a real thing for all things Sulzer with the more wheels the better attitude towards it! Thank-you Bachmann for your recent release! My other intrest is in departmental rolling stock so from time to time I'll be posting various bits and bobs from the workbench along the depatmental line as well as some slighty off topic pics of various commissions undertaken for clients! As the club layout gets going I'll probably also include this in the Blog although Andy B and Si (MrScorn) will no doubt be chipping in with their 2 penneth! Regards Dave
