Just to check, the Blue Grey HST (ER) has the correct introductory 254 number but seems to have the electrification orange strip on the cab-end. I don't think that's correct for 1977.

Can anyone confirm when the HST's started to get the orange stripes?

    Luke

The orange stripes started to appear in the early 1980s - well within the blue/grey era.

  2. As the artist responsible for the artwork, I am most grateful to John  for pointing out the error with the white stripes and I am pleased to say it has been corrected.

I am doing most of the artworks for Dapol and I keep an eye on this forum (and a couple of others) for any feedback. If it something that I can correct, then I will.

Now, about the Stewarts & Lloyds green....

    Would that be wise?

    Probably not.

If any mods are reading, can I change my login name without deleting my account, please?

I think Adam1701D is going to be the best bet. That way, it will only annoy Star Wars fans. 😉

I'm not convinced. The well known ScotRail liveried inspection saloon was DM45020 which is an LMS built example that runs on B4 bogies. This GWR one didn't get a paint job until 1994 and I have not seen any pictures of it in Scotland. Have only looked in the past hour, so I'm willing to be proved wrong. I'll stick with the LMS one

    Neil.

80975 did see use in Scotland in the early 1990s. One of the photos I was given for the artwork shows the saloon behind InterCity Mainline liveried 37430 at Crianlarich in 1992.

  5. It's amazing what comes back to bite you. 😀

Although they are good bread-and-butter models, there is danger that at least one other manufacturer could be working on a new 37 or 47 in N, so we are going for other models at the moment.

  6. The problem is that the tooling costs for a small batch of coaches would make them prohibitively expensive, given the limited appeal. Perhaps one of the 3D modellers out there could produce a new end/door section to graft onto an existing Mk3?

I was working on vinyl overlays foe the Chiltern coaches at Electra before the end, so perhaps these could be resurrected when the new owners take over.

    Hi Adam

If you mean NSE with GN branding we are - it's 313048 with SKU RT-313-312.   It is marked as ECML on the page but features the 'Kings Cross roof' motif.

Not the greatest pic - just quickly snapped on my desk with a 'phone - but you get the gist...

    cheers

    Now, that is very naughty...

I'd rather they'd used some of the resources to get the N gauge Light Pacific issued. We've only been waiting since 2012…

Going off-topic, I have seen the latest CAD images from the factory and they look phenomenal. The cab detail in particular, is outstanding for N.

Still a few minor tweaks to do but this is very much at the top of our development queue. Once everyone is happy, then we shall show some images.

Even though I'm more into diesel and electric, I am VERY excited for this!

The top part of the buffer beam was actually part of the body so would be bauxite, with the lower part black.

I think the question being asked recently was are BR containers going to be sold separately? Rails are selling the older ones but not the later types.

Not sure about this to be honest - I would e-mail sales@Dapol.co.uk who should know.

  10. Do you mean the black bufferbeam, for want of a better term? I must admit that I am more au fait with more modern stock but looking at some photos on-line it appears the bauxite should continue around the ends, with the black finishing lower down.

If this is the case, I will feed this back.
