The 143s were all delivered to Heaton as I recall, as far as the northwest is concerned I don't think they came much further south than Lancaster, possibility on Cumbrian coast workings. I know they did spend some time on Windermere workings.

Yeah that sounds like the problem, do you mean the rail between the frogs cut near the frog it is attached to and wired up to the bus?

Hello everyone, on my small layout I have a 3 way point in my Shunting yard (inglenook) on one of the directions none of my shunters will cross the frog, I have Electrofrog points with frog juicers all other points work fine but this one doesn't so today I tried to short the layout out to see what happens, and when I tried that route another frog juicer changed and the layout, it is the Left hand route that is causing the problem, most big engines cross it just fine but not really useful on an Iglenook! 

any ideas anybody?

Oh, I have never seen anything go in or out of the building, and I pass it regularly at all times so assumed it was not in use, thankyou for the info :-)

The unit is 156403 and the date on the slide mount says 2/92, so winter of 1991/2 would be right.

Apparently from the start of the new franchise, some 185s will be sub leased to Northern for the Windermere/Barrow/Blackpool work that Northern take from TPE, But TPE is still sub leasing 156s from Northern to run some of their services (South Transpennie?) to strengthen other services

Thanks all, now resolved, Windows had installed the generic driver that didn't work, saying the correct driver may not work with my device, when i asked it to try (theirs definitely didn't, so nothing to lose) everything is restored

Hi all, I installed W10 on my laptop with no problems, so repeated the process on my desktop, but wit no sound, when I click on the sound icon on the task bar, with attached cross in a red circle, it has a think about the problem and tells me there is no problem! speakers are built into my monitor.

any ideas?

A Stone blower, I was at Preston one evening some years ago and told that the Stone blower was going through platform 3, I watched it go through with disappointment when all it did was put Yellow stripes on the sleepers

Unfortunately the 1004 is one of very few Northern services between Preston and Lancaster so no easy with Northern only tickets to avoid
