  1. I like that Jez but that happened to the turntable layout ?
  2. Sorry gents phone died as did I when I got home It's 3D printed by a guy called Barry Clements http://www.shapeways.com/model/1192088/ho-1-87-dry-bulk-trailer-10b-heil-1625v-superflo.html?li=search-results&materialId=6 I think it more than stands up to the three foot rule and I don't have a problem with that...
  3. Dry Bulk Trailer by www.shapeways.com Very nice
  4. I'm not sure yet, remember it still has to fit in the back of the car. I may add a small fiddle yard the the right hand side over the winter but I've eight booking for the layout next year and asking for another 3-4 feet may upset the hardworking exhibition managers The idea of the extension came about after I realised the loco was spending more time off the layout For the time being I will use this section as open staging, if I get it looking presentable (not finished as I'm busy over the next 10 days) I will use it at Warley.
  5. Ever wondered what is the other side of the highway bridge at North Haston
  6. I'm not sure I can make all those name boards.... Location update North Haston will be in the State of Florida for the NMRA convention at the end of this month then it may well be over to California for Warley in November back to New England for ModelRail Scotland in Feb And finally a visit it to Wisconsin for Derby This is all subject to change
  7. I was thinking Winter Haston or Haston Palms
  8. My two CF7's have been motored by Jez On their return they were tested on North Haston. Guess what happened next ...
  9. Paul The warehouse was built by Steve Williams and is detailed somewhere else on RMWeb I will try and find a link to the thread The cement silos is a walthers kit that I sprayed all over with dull coat then covered it with brown sleeper grime and quickley washed off with white spirt The small green building is by BLMA which was painted by Steve The bridge is a rix highway kit given the same treatment as the silos The billboard is blma which has just been dull coated The while silo at the end of the warehouse as a tubing I found
  10. Morning Andrew, It is DCC but I only started my Guilford collection this Easter and only non sound fitted loco seem to be available. I will add sound to them as the winter progresses. The PWRR GE loco that was running on Sunday was sound fitted and that added a lot to the layout. Having said that there was another US layout there at the show and which had a number of sound locos on it but to be honest you needed ear defenders on when you went past it.
  11. Colin, The original idea was to have a generic US layout that could take any roads stock, but then I got into the Guilford, It might go to the NMRA convention with BNSF stock for a change..
  12. I like that, very nice. Looking forward to seeing it progress
  13. Damin Where can I see photos of you're layout?
  14. Damin You've got to make more of an effort, I can understand Colin not coming cos he's play trains but being the wrong side of the pond doesn't cut it these days Only joking, I'll try and take photos and post them live 3G permitting I now have a tripod clamp for the iPhone so I hope to take some video as well
  15. Thanks both It's my first attempt at weathering using oil paints and weathering powders Boy the oil paints take some time to dry...
  16. Couple of photos of the 100 ton hoppers weathered ready for this weekends exhibition at Redditich If anyone is passing please call in and say hello. Steve Williams, my son Jack (if I can get him off his PC) and I will be there.
  17. Thanks Stu Longer than I'd hoped, 4'6" is the max I can get in my car now... But it's given me an idea. The sunken magnets are good but you've got to know where you are going to uncouple at the planning stage. As NH is operated by the sitting in front of the fiddle yard, I didn't want to lean in front of the punters while uncoupling so I had to use magnets. The operation patten has to be very simple and repeats itself time and time again. Occasionally when I try to be clever and try a new move, cars (wagons) get uncouple in the wrong place ... So I find its best to keep it simple and stick to the plan Chris
  18. Hi Stu Can I ask how long Shelfe is, please Thanks Chris
  19. Getting the fleet ready for North Haston's next outing on the 21-22 Sept at Redditch.
