  3. Hi Guys, Having, for many months, complaining about the running qualities of my Bachmann BR Blue Class 08 (it was very poor, but we tried everything!), we have brought a new one! It is a Hornby model, in Cotswold rail No. 08847, which we picked up for 45 pounds. It liked this model because of two reasons: 1.) It had the high level air pipes, which are suitable for a 3rd rail fitted layout 2.) The Cotswold Rail means that I can say it's on hire to which ever company I chose Here's a couple of pictures of it on Bigporth: It will make it's exhibition debt at the Newbury Show this weekend, if your there, come and say hello! Remember I'll also be attending Ris-ex on the 21st February and Churchrail on the 6th March! Comments welcome Simon

  14. Hi Guys, Been up to the clubroom today to do some last minute pre photoshoot preparations. We've now finished 9 of the cassettes, which will be enough for tomorrows photoshoot. Plus, I've taken the new 4-CEP up, which looks right at home in the platforms of Hythe. The photographer, Ray Lightfoot, will be arriving at 10:00 tomorrow, so I'll have to be up early! I'll also be taking photos of the layout (not to magazine standards I must admit!) to add to my collection and I'll post them tomorrow night! Simon

  16. Hi Guys, Well last night we went up to the clubrooms to just finish putting Hythe up, almost. I say almost because we haven't put up the town scene board, due to us forgetting the little board that attaches it to the platform board!!! . We are going up early on wednesday so we can get it up before the AGM starts (as well as playing trains!). We had a couple of problems, 3 points won't work (but surprising the one that was giving us problems worked perfectly! ), but managed to get two of them working though 'wiggling'! One is still causing problems though. As well as this we had one of the scenic boards not working at all. We fixed this by switching a switch, this produced movement but still caused a short, we tracked it down to one point. After starring at it for a couple of minutes and doing nothing, it cleared it self up (weird in it? or perhaps we scared it into working! ). Finally our final problem the lights on the platform board had stopped working. We realised that a couple of wires had been pulled loose, so a couple of minutes with a screwdriver on my back, fixed that problem! Today after going to school, we managed to cut, drill and countersink all but one (we ran out!) the aluminimum sides for our cassettes. We haven't been able to put them together because we left the screw driver and bits up at the club! More on Thursday! Simon
  17. Hi, Where have you been Matt?! It's the AGM on Wednesday on Wednesday anyway so you have to come anyway! Simon
  18. Hi Guys, We took Hythe up to the High Wycombe & District Model Railway society clubrooms yesterday. The two main senic boards are up, along with one of the fiddle yard boards. The secound fiddle yard board is up there, but isn't erected (because I forget the bolts! ). The Town scene board will be taken up tonight and put up along with the other fiddle yard board! Simon
  19. Hi, The kit is very easy to build with clear instructions, the only thing to look out for is the roof. My roof didn't actually fit the profile of the ends and so needs filling! Simon
  20. Hi, Well if it's of the quality that we have seen on other Scenecraft products I think it's quite a reasonable price It'll look impresive on any layout! Simon
  21. Hi Guys, Here's the picture of the Horse box as promised. These were taken before primer was sprayed. The red masking tape is protecting the glazing (hopefully!): Now the roof is masked off, so I need to get some GWR Chocolate colour and some transers now! Comments welcome Simon
