  1. IMPORTANT CORONA VIRUS UPDATE As of writing all shows are scheduled to proceed, but we are expecting that some sort of government ban will be applied that may affect some or all shows. We are also conscious that many will not want to travel to shows as they may be at risk. We want to support our customers so we have now temporarily reduced the threshold of our free UK and CI postage from £100 to £30 for a large letter and £50 for all other shipments. This is applied automatically at checkout and applies to web orders only. If you have placed an order for show collection on or before 13th March we will offer free UK postage for these orders irrespective of value.
  2. As the festivities approach, we would like to take this opportunity wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. We hope this finds you in good health and that you are enjoying your various activities. We are very busy in the run up to the end of the year and are having a few supply difficulties, so please bear with us. SPECIAL OFFER It is a while since we made a special offer, so we are correcting that by offering you 5% off all e-vouchers until Christmas. This is valid for any order of Gift Vouchers for Electronic Delivery with no other items in the cart, placed and paid for via the website before the end of day on 24 December 2019. The code for this is EVOUCH5. E-vouchers are delivered as a PDF file by e-mail that you can print or send on to a friend. You can even keep them for yourself. These vouchers can be redeemed by telephone or at Shows. To use on web orders please advise us first and we will set up a unique code for you. This offer is for web orders only. Please enter the code in the Coupon box on checkout PRODUCTS The Modelu range has proven to be extremely popular, our stock levels in 4mm are growing rapidly, the 7mm stock is also growing. Other scales are available but will not be from stock. More products are due to be added to the range very soon. We have had delivery problems from DCC Concepts and all Cobalt Point Motors are due in early next year. Cobalt Omega motors are not affected by the delays and we have very limited stock of Digital IP's. We have now finally had deliveries of their wire strippers. Some DCC Concepts back to back gauges have been out of stock for over a year, but we are reliably informed that they are due in a few weeks now. Meanwhile we made a batch of multigauges and sold out before getting them to the website. More are being made and will be on the site as soon as we have a sample to photograph. We are pleased to say that some overdue Metric tubes are on their way to us as this is being written. A major issue is that K&S metals have withdrawn a lot of products. All the TT61, TT61X and TT62 tubes, A2, A4 L sections and pretty much all of their small Brass flats (F series), C, U, H, I and Z sections are no longer available. This does not affect any of our Metric products. We have been, and continue to search for alternatives. A reminder we are now stocking Limonene, a milder solvent than MEK, Butanone, Plastic Weld etc. This is excellent for fitting glazing without fogging etc. There is a (hopefully) short term problem with supply of Cambrian kits due to a health issue with the manufacturer. Up until when this happened, we had seen improvement in the availability of Cambrian Kits. We are continuing to expand our stock of the HMRS range of transfers. We have the majority of 4mm Pressfix and Methfix transfers in stock, the limiting factor is what HMRS have when we order. We will continue to re-order the rest. We have a limited number of 7mm transfers and will continue to expand this. Exchange rates have taken a hit and hopefully will stabilise now, however we are anticipating price rises with imported items. There is also significant import duty being applied to imports from the USA that are yet to filter through. So therefore be prepared for a number of price rises in the new year. CHRISTMAS POST DATES We are intending to work up until 20 Dec and, subject to stock availability, should ship all orders received by 14:00 that day. We will be working at odd times between then and the new year and may be able to ship some orders during this time. Normality returns on 2nd January. Orders for E-Vouchers will be delivered by e-mail and will be checked daily until Christmas Eve. Royal Mail last posting dates are 20 Dec (1st Class, which we use for all UK post). Most of Europe is 16 December and the date for the rest of the world has passed. EXHIBITIONS We would like to thank our customers at both Manchester and Peterborough for their support and understanding while we managed with two large shows at the same time. Thankfully, This will not be an issue next year as Manchester will be 1 week later than Peterborough. Guildex at Telford is changing. 2020 will be it's last year at the current venue. This we understand is due to the high rent there. So for 2020 a major change is that Guildex at Telford will be earlier, over the August bank holiday weekend. As we have fewer staff available over that weekend, and we expect many customers will be away on holidays etc. we are taking a smaller stand which will not include Parkside and Cambrian. These can still be pre-ordered for show collection The new exhibition at Gaydon went off very well, and we expect it to improve next year. This is at the excellent and interesting Motor Museum. KNIVES AND BLADES We are advised by Royal Mail that we will soon have to send knives and blades to be signed for with proof of age (over 18). Although Royal Mail say the policy is clear, the detail is far from this, no sizes are stated etc. we are still awaiting clarification. Full details of all our other products are on our website. Derek, Anita, Matt and Judith. Forthcoming Exhibitions: Do not forget that you can beat the queues at shows by pre-ordering through the website. There is a checkout option for this. You can choose to pay through the website or on collection. Please state in the 'Comments' box which show you wish to collect the order from. Please allow at least 1 week for pre-orders, 2 weeks for Ally Pally, Guildex - Telford, Scaleforum, Railex, Expo EM, York and Warley. Also please allow 2 to 3 weeks for orders of Parkside Kits. Cambrian kits will be as available from the manufacturer. 3. We have been so busy that it suddenly dawned on us that it has been nearly a year since the last newsletter, so it is high time that we rectified this. Most of the news relates to new products and exhibitions, but there are some other snippets of information too. NEW PRODUCTS The biggest item of news is that we have been appointed a distributor by Modelu. This fantastic range of 3d scanned figures and detailing accessories should prove of great interest to many customers. We already have stocks of the most popular items in 4mm and 7mm scales, with all other items available to order on a 2 to 3 week leadtime. Most figures are available in 15 scales and many in both Left and Right hand orientation, so the range is huge. At the time of writing this we have published over 280 figures, with a few more to add. We should be adding the detailing and architectural items over the next few days or weeks. We have expanded our range of Alan Gibson 4mm wheels to cover more types, mostly as these are needed to cover some of the Slaters Kits. Our stock holding of Gibson wheels is now quite good and will improve as we learn what the demand is. We have frequently been asked for Limonene, a milder solvent than MEK, Butanone, Plastic Weld etc. We now have this in stock. This is excellent for fitting glazing without fogging etc. Since the last newsletter we have increased the range of Peco products that we have published on our website. We have also increased the number of items we hold in stock and in many cases the quantity we hold. We have stock of a number of Ratio N Gauge items, Wills Modern fencing and windows, and Ratio 00 Wagon Kits where we are offering wheel swaps to P4/EM. The range of Slaters 00 kits now extends to 10 items (MR and GNR wagons). Slaters inform us that the Private Owners Wagons will be released next followed by Coaches. Also with Slaters we are now stocking some of their accessories such as moulded numerals and fencing. We are pleased to say the availability of Cambrian Kits has again improved and lead times have dropped. We had hit a point where we had stock of all items, but this has slipped back a bit as some that have been hard to get have sold well at shows. Hopefully the next delivery will rectify this. We are now trying to improve the depth of stock to prevent this happening again. PRODUCT ISSUES There are a number of items from DCC Concepts that seem to be unavailable, including 14.5mm BB gauge, all wire strippers and Cobalt Analogue IP Point motors. Please check with us on current status before ordering these. Regrettably we will no longer be stocking South Eastern Finecast sheets. This is because of a decision by the manufacturer to only sell direct, and not via the trade. We have removed them from the website, but will continue to take to shows all remaining stock. Peco are now putting Transfers from Modelmasters in the great majority of Parkside 4mm kits (we have spares of these on the website and keep a reasonable stock). As Peco do not tell us which kits have transfers and which not, it is hard to keep the website up to date showing which kits have the transfers, but you can always check with us for info on the current status of specific stock items. Brexit (sorry to mention it) has had a dramatic effect on exchange rates and we are anticipating some hefty price rises in many ranges. Our last delivery of Metal Strips and sections cost a lot more and we need to put these up, probably mid October, so now is a good time to stock up. NEW SHOW STAND and EXHIBITION STOCK We have completed phase one and are yet to start phase 2. We typically have more open space at one end of the stand and many more products displayed on vertical racking. You may have to look wider than usual to find things. Phase 2 should happen next year. We are normally able to take a range of Wires, Solders, Wood, Nuts and Bolts, Drills, solvents, fillers, tools, Evergreen, Slaters Plastics, A4 ish own brand Styrene to all shows. As our range has expanded we have had to put much more thought into what we take to shows. We typically now have the following restrictions at shows: Smaller shows where we only have 2 staff, we are unable to take 500mm long metal sections, large plasticard and the Plastruct display stands. Pre-ordering is strongly advised. Where we have 2 concurrent shows, the 2 day show will normally have 4mm Kits, 250mm Metal Sections but not have 500mm metals large Plasticard and Plastruct. The 1 day show will not have 4mm Kits, 250mm Metal Sections etc, but will have Plastruct, 500mm sections and large Plasticard. Larger shows - Normal stock. The difficult exception to this is Manchester and BRM Peterborough. Here we will take 250mm Metal sections and Kits to Manchester, 500mm metals large Plasticard and Plastruct to Peterborough. Pre ordering for both is strongly advised. PHOSPHORIC ACID FLUX, BUTANONE and MEK The excellent Barrie Stevenson formula has been taken over by Slaters and is back in production in 9% strength. The 12% was made exclusively for us and we are still trying to persuade Slaters to make a batch for us. Our Butanone and MEK also came from Barrie, so we are in the process of resourcing this. We have always sold this as both MEK and Butanone, but they are in fact the same product under different labels. So we have good stocks of MEK, which we will continue to sell while stocks last. Once this is gone we will only supply as Butanone. When our current small stock of Butanone is gone we will be selling larger bottles from a different source. EXHIBITIONS A new exhibition has been created this year at Gaydon. Hopefully this will be every bit as good as the previous show at this excellent and interesting Motor Museum. We did not hesitate to accept the invitation. The Festival or Railway Modelling - Peterborough has changed dates from last year and now clashes with both Manchester and Reading. We have had to drop the Reading show as a result of this, and the stock availability will be as described above. Pre-Ordering for both Manchester and Peterborough is strongly advised. We will again not be attending the Great Electric Train Show this year. We apologise to customers who expect to find us there but it is entirely outside of our control. We will be trying something new at Expo NG Swanley this year. Cambrian models have agreed to let us have some of their 16mm NG kits to take to the show, so these will replace the normal Cambrian and Parkside 4mm ranges. Our attendance at the Thornbury Show (the small show in the village, not the large event at the leisure centre) was extremely successful and it is now fixed in the calendar. KNIVES AND BLADES We are advised by Royal Mail that we will soon have to send knives and blades to be signed for with proof of age (over 18). Although Royal Mail say the policy is clear the detail is far from this, no sizes are stated etc. we are awaiting clarification. Full details of all our other products are on our website. 4. Eileens Emporium and ModelU are pleased to announce that Eileens are now stocking ModelU figures and accessories. The most popular lines are already in stock and more will be added in due course. They will be added to Eileens website over the Summer, meanwhile please enquire by phone or email.
  5. Eileens are now stocking this range, with the usual discounts for 4 off and 10 off. The first delivery of 4042 NER Hopper and 4043 NER Birdcage Brake sold out at Manchester show. Nor on order expected next week, possible with some MR wagons. Addidn to site as they arrive.
  6. Oops sorry, It hould be http://www.cmra.org.uk/exhibition.html It is correct on my website.
  7. The clocks have changed so the dark nights are here for a few months. We have a big run of shows coming up (5 in 4 weekends) and are looking forward to meeting many old friends. NEW PRODUCTS We had been adding odd products here and there and they can be seen on the website. If you go to Product/New Products you will see lots there, we recommend that you go to last entry as this will be the latest on the list. We had to drop the Vallorbe range of 4" files some time ago when the manufacturer withdrew the range. They appear to have made a U turn on this and we are told they are again available. We will be stocking these over the next few months. We have also been informed that Vallorbe have discontinued the Square Seconds file, so when our stock is gone we are not able to replace it. CHRISTMAS POSTING When we send by post in the UK we always use First Class post. We will try to send all orders for Post placed before 14:00, on the day they are placed (Monday to Friday). This will be subject to stock availability. Where courier delivery is required, we use a next working day service for England, Wales and Scotland - excluding Highlands and Islands. The changes are happening progressively. We will have more open space at one end of the stand and many more products displayed on vertical racking. You may have to look wider than usual to find things. We hope you like it and will look forward to hearing your feedback. PHOSPHORIC ACID FLUX The issue with Phosphoric Acid flux is now resolved and we have stock in place of the 9%. We are still unclear about the 12% but hope to resolve this soon. SPECIAL OFFER We have been supplying Airbrush and related products for some time, but are now finding that most people who want an airbrush already have one. The range also takes up a considerable space at shows and tying up a lot of stock, so we reluctantly made the decision to withdraw from this market sector. Accordingly we are offering a massive 20% off all Airbrushes, Compressors, Spares and most related products including Paint products until midnight (GMT) Sunday 16 December 2018. This applies specifically to all products under the Products/Airbrushes Painting and Cleaning category on the website. The offer is for orders placed through the Website only. Simply put the coupon code AIRBRUSH in the Coupon box on checkout. EXHIBITIONS We will for the first time be attending the Thornbury Show, this is the small show in the village, not the large event at the leisure centre. This is intended to give our customers in the Bristol region and South Wales access to our products. We have the usual clash with Manchester and Reading in December and Bristol and Southampton in January. We will take the 4mm Kits and Short Metal Sections to Manchester and Southampton only and 500mm Long Metal Sections and Plastruct to Reading and Bristol only. The Festival or Railway Modelling - Peterborough has changed dates from last year and is now on 8/9 December 2018. DATA PROTECTION POLICY Our full policy statement is on the website, but broadly: We treat your personal data with the respect it deserves. 8. I think it i time I threw my hat in on this one. I have been a fine scale modeller for well over 30 years (P4) and in my business life talk to many "newcomers" to the hobby both by phone and at shows. These cover a very broad spectrum in both age and expectatons. I am always please at the number of younger people taking an interest in "proper" modelling. I have had several dicussions with children of around 10 years old showing an interest in improving out of the box models by detailing and or weathering. I think this is in part due to modelling on a pocket money budget, these guys (both sexes) see the detail in current expensive RTR and want to replicate this on affordable second hand stuff from the bring and buy. I choose to sponsor the Childrens corner at the Warners shows where kids put together plastic kits and really love to do it, there is nothing like a bit of hands on to encourage further interest. By far the majority of the "newcomer" questions I get are from those who are at, or approaching retirement age, some are reviving a childhood interest and others following a long held desire. Among these there is a vast divrsity, from those wanting run stock from the 60's or earlier, to those wanting to leap straight in to finescale stuff. The common theme is wanting help and advice at a detail level that is not easily found in a single place. The TV program will be of interest to these youngsters and covers the scenic aspect of layouts quite well within the available time, but next to nothing on rolling stock etc. However the bias towards gimmicks is likely to be of less interest to the later in life newcomers. Having said that it is good to see the hobby pulled out of the closet and presented in a non geeky way on main stream TV.
  9. Not old stock, we turn over enough to never be more than a few months old.
  10. The autumn has arrived and the show season has well and truly begun. We have lots of new products for you to enjoy and some important show changes to take note of. NEW PRODUCTS We now have in stock the new Functional 00 Point Rodding range from DCC Concepts. This is a bit over scale for finescale enthusiasts, but robust enough for the job in hand. Our current stocks are limited but can easily be topped up. We have also added multi packs of DCC Concepts point motors, some of their fine wire strippers, weathering powders and other assorted items. DCC Concepts products feature in our special offer this month. We are pleased to say the availability of Cambrian Kits has improved. At the time of writing about 90% are in stock. We have now had deliveries of all items, but some have again sold out at source. We now have in stock Wills plastic sheets covering Brick Stone etc as an alternative to Slaters and South Eastern Finecast. Peco have commissioned Transfers from Modelmasters for all the 4mm kits. We have these on the website and most are in stock. Peco are starting to put these in the kits but are not forthcoming as to which ones when, it seems to be as new stock is packed. We will try to keep the website up to date by showing which kits have the transfers, but you can check with us for info on the current status of specific stock items. These transfers are designed to be one sheet per wagon for BR livery (and GW on some wagons). We are still stocking the original MM8xxx series of transfers which typically have enough for more than one wagon. We are continuing to expand our stock of the HMRS range of transfers that we stock. We have also expanded the range of Springside lamps. By popular demand, we now have in stock vacuum formed architectural sheets from South Eastern Finecast. We are still waiting for some samples so that we can take decent photos to illustrate these products. To conclude what seems a never ending list of new products, we are also stocking many of the Springside detailing parts. NEW SHOW STAND We are continuing to develop the new exhibition stand. The changes are happening progressively. We will have more open space at one end of the stand and many more products displayed on vertical racking. You may have to look wider than usual to find things. We hope you like it and will look forward to hearing your feedback. PHOSPHORIC ACID FLUX We regret that we are at present unable to supply Phosphoric Acid flux. This excellent product was manufactured by Barrie Stevenson who sadly passed away earlier this year. Another manufacturer has take over the formula, but not made any as of yet. We are hoping this will be resolved within a few weeks. SPECIAL OFFER We are offering 10% off all DCC Concepts products until midnight (GMT) 31 October 2018. This applies to all products under the DCC Concepts category on our website. Simply put the coupon code DCCC in the Coupon box on checkout. If you want any of their items that are not on our website, these can be included in the offer, please contact us for details on how we can do this. EXHIBITIONS The Festival or Railway Modelling - Peterborough has changed dates from last year and is now on 8/9 December 2018. We will not be attending the Great Electric Train Show this year. We apologise to customers who expect to find us there but it is entirely outside of our control. We have the usual clash with Manchester and Reading in December. We will take the 4mm Kits and Short Metal Sections to Manchester only and 500mm Long Metal Sections and Plastruct to Reading only. 11. Just had this in, working point rodding in 4mm. Very impressive. I will have it at Scaleforum over the weekend. I have only one pack of each at present, so will be showing and taking orders.
  12. I see a lot of discussion about access to the show, but very little if anything about the content of the show. Apart from the obvious attraction of the Motor Museum, the show at Gaydon was well balanced and certainly a good enough show to overcome the limitations of the size and layout of the venue. Bursting at the seams in all ways, exhibition space and visitor space. With the move the organisers have declared an intention to increase the number of Layouts, which is very laudable. They also delcared an intention to limit the number of traders, and within that focus on manufacturers rather than having too many Box Shifters. Again all quite laudable. They have indeed invited a number of smaller specialist manufacturers and that should set a direction for the show. Again a good thing. They have also invited a fairly large number of Box shifters, including those not present or regulars at Gaydon. However, despite regular support for the show at Gaydon, neither Eileens Emporium nor Precision Paints have been invited to MK. I have tried to establish why but have repeatedly been given the run around and told they are focussing on manufacturers and that Eileens Emporium is not on the invite list. I understand similar is true for Precision Paints. The evidence seems to indicate it is more base on magazine advertisers than their declared intent. Emails have been ignored, and we have now given up. Why they do not see either Eileens Emporium or Precision Paints as manufacturers, but do see Hattons as one beggars belief. All show managers and most visitors realise that a good show is a delicate balance of Exhibits, Demonstrations and Trade. I wish the organisers good luck with the balance thay have chosen, I am looking forward to seeing the post show comments. Please do not complain to me about our not being there, such complaints should be directed to the show organisers.
  13. We have been very busy adding all of our exciting new products to the website. We are pleased to have more excellent products to offer you. This has taken priority over writing newsletters, so sorry for the long gap. We have also been updating the website to meet the new GDPA regulations and generally trying to keep our customers happy. DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS No doubt you will have been bombarded with emails from companies asking you to re-subscribe to their emails etc. We have always adopted policies that are broadly in line with the latest regulations so we do not see the need to do this. We have updated our policy statement on the website, but broadly: We treat your personal data with the respect it deserves. We do not keep credit card details for longer than necessary. Web orders use third party payment processing services (currently Paypal and Worldpay) and Card data is not received by us. This is an opt in newsletter, all recipients in some form requested to be sent this. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom. We do not sell, give or otherwise pass on any customer details other than as needed to satisfy the order. 7MM NEWS We have no product specific news, but are pleased to say that we were invited to be one of 2 traders attending the review meeting held after the Kettering show. I will leave it for the guild to announce the outcome, but can say that the meeting was very open and discussed thoroughly all aspects of the problems associated with the show. SCALEFOUR AGM We will be attending the scalefour Society AGM on 9th June in Huddersfield. Please note we are taking a very limited range so please per-order if at all possible. We will have Parkside and Cambrian Kits, Wheels, Transfers, 10 packs of straight wires, BA Nuts and Bolts. We will not have the usual range of tools, metal sections, adhesives, solders etc. NEW PRODUCTS We are now stocking Cambrian Models 4mm kits. This business changed hands about a year ago and the new owner is not planning to attend shows, so we are helping to fill that void. He is struggling to keep up with manufacture, and is working very hard to get the full range into stock. We are taking regular deliveries and trying to keep the website in line with what is actually in stock. These come without wheels so we have expanded the range of Gibson wheels we keep to include 10 Spoke, Disc Brake and Lowmac to cover the additional requirements of this range. In the last newsletter we announced that we would be supplying Parkside and selected other products from Peco. We now have in depth stock of all 4mm kits, reasonable stocks of 2mm kits and accessories, 4mm and 7mm accessories. We have limited stocks of 7mm kits and will build these up after the summer, but all are available to order subject to stock at Peco. Peco have commissioned Transfers from Modelmasters for all the 4mm kits. We have these on the website and are awaiting images and stock, all due immanently. As we understand it these are designed to be one sheet per wagon, with pre and post nationalisation (at least on most GW wagons). We will know more when we see the stock or get the images. We are still stocking the original MM8xxx series of transfers which typically have enough for more than one wagon. It seems logical that we should stock the HMRS range of transfers, which we have started to do and have a few in stock. We intend to stock the whole range, but will build it up progressively. Gibson wagon and coach wheels are available by the axles or in packs of 2 axles with bearings (one wagon), 8 axles with bearings at a small discount or 20 axles with bearings at about 10% off (effectively free bearings). By popular demand, we now have in stock vacuum formed architectural sheets from South Eastern Finecast. We are waiting for some samples so that we can take decent photos to illustrate these products. To conclude what seems a never ending list of new products we are also stocking many of the Springside detailing parts. Albion Alloys have added some finer grade abrasive sticks to their range which we have in stock. NEW SHOW STAND We are continuing to develop the new exhibition stand. The changes will happen progressively. We will have more open space at one end of the stand and many more products displayed on vertical racking. You may have to look wider than usual to find things. We hope you like it and will look forward to hearing your feedback. EXHIBITIONS We plan to have all new products at all exhibitions, except we will not be taking 2mm and 4mm kits to Guildex. Please see the note above about the Scalefour Society AGM Full details of all our other products are on our website. 14. Now that Cambrian Kits are under new ownership I have been talking to the new owner, and for the forseeable future they will not be attending any shows. Accordingly it seemed to me to be a natural fit that I stock these alongside the Parkside kits so they will still be available at the finescale shows including Scaleforum, ExpoEM, Railex etc. Currently about half the range is available and the new owner is focussing his attention on manufacture to get the whole range into stock. I took an initial delivery of all the currently available kits just before Scalefour North and managed to get them there and have an open order for all the others. I have ordered replacements for those that I ran out of so will be filling any gaps before Epsom. The range is quite large and it is taking me some time to get them all on the Eileens Emporium website. I am working through in numeric order. So far I have released about half or the available kits and should complete the release in a few days. As with Parkside I am offering Single kits, 4 packs and 10 packs. I have also taken into stock the additional relevant Gibson wheels in 00,EM and P4 - 10 Spoke, Lowmac and 12mm Disc Brake.
  15. 4mm Wheels are now in stock and on the website
  16. There are many 'solvent' adhesives on the market. Most are now liquid and can be applied with a brush. All branded items will work on Styrene kits but very few will work with ABS or other "Plastics". For ABS you will need Butanone (MEK) or Dichloromethane (EMA Plastic Weld). Note MEK PAK is not MEK and does not work on ABS. All the above are must be used in well ventilated areas. We are forever issuing the same advice at exhibitions.
  17. We are looking forward to Spring, and an improvement in the weather. The Leamington and Warwick show was unfortunately cancelled and some incoming deliveries have been delayed, thankfully these were the only problems caused by the Beast from the East and his girlfriend Emma. We have a busy schedule of shows coming up and look forward to meeting you there. BRINGING NEW INTEREST TO THE HOBBY We have always tried to get young (or indeed not so young) people into the hobby. We are always pleased to let youngsters try a bit of airbrushing at shows and and have been surprised a few times at what 10 year old's can do. We are pleased to announce that we are sponsoring the Children's kit building area at all the BRM shows with the supply of all tools, glues etc. This covers London (Ally Pally), Doncaster and Peterborough. NEW PRODUCTS The biggest news item we have is that we are now able to supply Peco products. We realised, when Parkside Dundas sold the Parkside Kits business to Peco, that there would be a lack of product availability at the shows that Parkside Dundas attended. Especially the Scalefour and EM Gauge specialist shows. After much discussion we are please to announce that we have an account open with Peco, so can fill this void. We now have in stock all of the 00 Kits and Accessories, N Gauge Kits and Accessories and selected 0 Gauge Kits and Accessories. At the time of writing all the 00 and N products are on the website and we are adding the 0 gauge as time permits. We are offering all the 00 kits with either the standard wheels, or with a swap for Gibson EM or P4 wheels. We are also offering all kits in multi packs of 4 or 10 at approximately 5% and 10% discounts respectively. We also now have in stock Modelmaster transfers to suit the 00 range of kits and are just awaiting some information to enable us to add them to the website. It follows naturally that we will be adding Gibson 00, EM and P4 Wagon and Coach wheels to the website as soon as we have time. We are sorry if we have not got all of this on the website yet, but with the sheer volume of products multiplied by the number of wheel and quantity options it is a surprising number of line items. In fact it has increased our number of products on the website by over 30% already, and that is without over half the 0 Gauge or any transfers or wheels. We do not intend to stock too many products from the Peco range but we will be getting Wills architectural sheets and maybe some other kits. We can always get items in to order for you. The only other notable addition is that we now have Foam Board from Maquett in stock. NEW SHOW STAND With more products to display we are redesigning our exhibition stand. The changes will happen progressively. We will have more open space at one end of the stand and many more products displayed on vertical racking. We hope you like it and will look forward to hearing your feedback. EXHIBITIONS Please note that we have a double show with Derby and Reading in May, so both shows will have limited stock. The main differences are where we send the 250mm and 500mm sections, Plastruct racks and Airbrushing demonstration. Pre-ordering is advised for all these shows. Derby will have 250mm Metal Sections, Smiths Couplings, Parkside 4mm and 2mm, Gaugemaster products and Airbrushing Demo. There will be no 500mm sections or Plastruct. Reading will have 500mm sections, Parkside 7mm only, Plastruct and limited Airbrushing Stock. There will be no 250mm sections. Most other stock will be at both shows, but we cannot guarantee any particular product, so please pre-order where possible. STOCK ISSUES The long awaited Taps have arrived. We have also had a delivery of some Bill Bedford items, but there are still some were awaiting artworks for. These should be here within 4 weeks. 5.5" and 8" Hold and Fold tools are out of stock and on order. SPECIAL OFFER We have a special offer valid until the end of March 2018. We are offering an additional 5% off all Parkside products, this is in addition to multipack discounts. 18. Eileens are about to set off so we should be there. The question is will there be any customers.
  19. As covered in a thread elsewhere, Eileens Emporium are now stocking Parkside. It will take time to build up the stock levels, but first delivery of 4mm and 2mm arrived yesterday. The website now offers all 4mm kits with 00, EM or P4 wheels, with discounts for multi packs. We also have in stock all the accessories (underframes etc) for 2mm and 4mm. We are expecting a delivery of all the relevant Modelmaster transfers immenantly, but these will take a day or two to get onto the website. By implication it also means that we will start to sell Gibson wheels (non Loco), also need loading to the website. We are planning to take these all to shows. For 0 Gauge it take longer to build up the stocks, but we have a couple in for starters and all are available to order. We will look at wheel swaps for 0 Gauge later in the year.
  20. We are planning to do this, but we are doing the 4mm first. Hopefully later this year. We have an account with Slaters so getting the wheels is not a big problem but I need a lot of info on expected sales etc, so please contact me off forum.
  21. Since Peco took over the Parkside range, I became conscious that avaialabilty at Finescale shows and in particular with Wheel Swap to EM and 18.83 was going to be an issue. After badgering Peco very heavily they have finally decided to let me have an account (this was alluded to in March RM, but no names mentioned), so I am very pleased to report that Eileens Emporium will be stocking Parkside procducts. Orders have now been placed with Peco for the complete range of 4mm kits and parts, all 2mm kits and selected 0 Gauge kits. Also ordered are suitable Gibson Wheels and requests in for relevant Transfers from Modelmaster. The Parkside kits will be added to the website over the next few days and stock is expected around the middle of next week. The website listings will have options for wheel swap to EM and P4 as well as multi pack pricing for quantities of 4 and 10. The Parkside range is large so it will take us some time to build up the stock levels up to those that we want to hold, so we strongly recomment pre-ordering for show collections with at least 2 week notice.

  24. Welcome to our latest newsletter. Autumn is well and truly here and the clock will shortly change, which means more modelling time for us! We want to enhance you modelling experience, so read ahead as there will be something for everyone. Not forgetting our many customers in the southern hemisphere, who are about to enjoy their summertime. We hope you are all keeping well and are looking forward to the summer, where it is still modelling time. We have been adding many new products recently and they are proving extremely popular. Writing this newsletter showed us just how many we have added, and there are more to come. EXHIBITION NEWS The plans for the 4mm workshop at Wells Town Hall on 4th November have now come together. This will be a skill training day for all 4mm modellers as well as the AGM of the EM Gauge Society. The training and sales area will open be for all visitors, and not restricted to members. As always with Wells, there is an outdoor market in the square outside the Town Hall, so plenty for the other half to do. Please see http://www.emgs.org/wp-content/uploads/4mm-Workshop-Guide.pdf for flyer . We will also be at Crewe on the same weekend. The long metal sections (500mm) will be at Crewe and the short ones (250mm)at Wells. Also the Plastruct will be at Crewe (Evergreen at both. Pre-orders are strongly recommended for both shows.
