Great progress Pete. The buildings set the scene nicely and certainly capture the prototypes well...
Nice work on the Gronk..... Looks nicely done and picks out the detail on the model nicely.
Be good to see those Hoods weathered eventually...
Think a nice Tractor would look at home too....
Cheers,
Mark

Have you the link to the Modelmaster transfers you used here please Mark. Asking for a friend.
Hi Robin,
Sadly Modelmaster stopped doing this range which is a shame.
PMP put me on to them a few years ago when he attacked these Oxford RCH 7 Planks.
I'll PM you .

Mark

(Very) minor point. Barnwood was 85E, then 85C. 85B was Horton Road. Takes nothing away from some great modelling.
Duly noted..
Thanks for pointing this out pH and also for your kind words..

Well, I was going to dispose of one of these as part of a larger package to a large emporium that takes second-hand stuff, but now, thanks to this and the relentless propaganda from Sheepiedoo, I may have to consider the possible commencement of the review process, that could result in a decision to contemplate a possible change to that decision.
Great news indeed CK.
I'm glad you have decided to retain a green Ivatt 2MT at Kernow Towers.
A nice useful addition to the roster
That Sheep Bloke can be very persuasive of course. Going all Eastern Region I'm sure he will be acquiring an Ivatt 2MT no doubt?

Mmmmmm..............worryingly, I find myself returning to this blog entry...........for just a read through you understand.
I've also waded through the relevant thread in the Oxford topic........again just reading..
Oh, and a few shops have them in stock........just having a look....
Rob.
Thanks Rob,
Don't think you'll be disappointed either. Real weight to it as well..
It runs nicely and is a bit of a bargain in my eyes.
Other than the missing smokebox number plate and a few tweaks it scrubs up well..
May even have the numberplate to go with your example as well.
Happy looking...

Mark

Goodness. Fantastic work and 2mm Scale to boot...

Nice work and weathering to finish it off Mark...
Thanks Pete
There's a couple of heavy freight locos (8F/9F) on the workbench for the ironstone layout which will need heavier weathering so a bit of variety.
Watch this space..

Top stuff, Mark.
You've managed to convince me that I 'need ' one of these little chaps at some point........
Want one...
Rob.
Thankyou Rob for your kind words.
Some good bargains secondhand and new to be had.
The not so loved LMS version could easily be turned into an unlined black ER example
I'd like to see your take on one of these Ivatt's especially with your excellent weathering.
Cheers,
Mark

Nice work!! I've been trying to get ahold of the Bachmann model for a while, they don't seem to come up too often. She and 46527 were regulars on the Dursley branchline. I was born to late to see steam on the line, but apparently saw diesel.
Thankyou Blackthorn.
Bachmann have done a 46526 as you are aware. This one started off as a 46521 model.
Thanks as well for sharing the a Dursley branch memories. I was tempted to do 46527 but it wasn't fitted with a 85B shedcode plate hence my chosen number.

Nice project Mark.
Are you keeping it or will you pass on to your friend?
Think it will be heading towards 15A land when the lurgy goes away...

Fox Transfers.
Thanks gazzaday.
I never realised Fox did bus detailing parts.
I knew they had taken on the transfer range from LBC as they produced them.

Very nicely done.
Always lovely to see reworkings of EFE/OOC bus models.
Out of interest where did the front flush glazed windows come from?
Thanks,
Mark

Very nice work. I like moguls!
Must have a look at the Hornby figures, I haven't considered them for a while.
Thanks Mikkel,
Thought you were a bit of a Mogul fan.
Being a bit contentious here I could almost see an Ivatt Class 2 Mogul in GWR livery although fitted with GWR boiler fittings. There is something in the Ivatt 2MT which carries on the Swindon influence to LMS design in my eyes. Then again...
The Hornby figures are nicely moulded. The fireman in particular.
In a future blog you will see the drivers used following extensive surgery.

Again, very nice work off the bench Mark.
Weathering looks spot on too.
46468 is getting ever closer to 46444
Thanks Pete...
There's another finished Ivatt waiting in the wings and one on the workbench to finish..
Pleased with how this has turned out especially as it was a bit of a wreck when I bought it as a project.
It now has a bright future...

Great project in the making there Pete.. Good to see Mr Futers influence once more especially with a 7mm representation of Kyle.
Lovely to see one of your mock ups that gives a representation of what your aiming to achieve.
Look forward to further progress on this.

Nice work Mark.
I particularly like the weathered effect on the piston/connecting rods (?)
Once again the scenic plank comes in useful for displaying your work and provides a suitable backdrop to allow concentration on the rolling stock
Thanks Pete,
Pleased with how this is turning out. Few new tweaks weathering wise as well using the Sharpie pens on the already weathered valve gear then building the weathering back up again with washes, airbrushing and dry brushing.
The plank faced the elements of rain yesterday during photographing.
It will be good to use some of the techniques I've used on the photo plank on the forthcoming layout. Them it will be time for a 2mm project...

Good to see one of these again, they've been out of the limelight for a while. Your work has nicely highlighted the character of the loco.
Thanks Mikkel,
Considering their age the Hornby L&Y Pug certainly scrubs up well. Opening up the cab window spectacle plates certainly lifts the model. The addition of the Mainly Trains brass spectacle frames finishes the effect nicely.
It will be nice to see the L&Y Pug revisited one day or at least a new finer scale chassis.
Something else I should have done is look at replacing the handrail knobs and using finer wire.
Thanks once again.

Well done, Mark. Inspiration for me to build a couple or more from my collection!
Your weathering is very convincing.
Thankyou CK.
Much appreciated.
Likewise I like the effect on your Cambrian Herring wagons. I hope I can achieve the same effect as yours on mine.

Given we know it's a Corkerhill loco, pic 2 has something of the Nith Valley about it.
Nice work as always Mark.
Thanks Jamie,
Great to hear from you and thought you might find this of interest.
I'd agree about the Nith Valley comparison.
More Scottish postings soon with my Oban Ivatt 46468 up next...

Very nice work, Mark. Of course there are give-aways on the loco (wheels) but overall it's quite convincing. The parcels van is great. High spec new models are all very good, but make-overs like this are just as impressive in my opinion.
Thanks Mikkel. Much appreciated.
I must say although the modified Lima parcel van has taken a number of years to eventually get running properly, like you say putting some work into a makeover is a very rewarding.
