  1. Hmmm, sounds curious, I'm not aware of any conversions to RHD but you never know until something turns up! Mind you it's possible that any which went to Australia when new could have been converted and brought back to Blighty at some point. Most classic Masers in this country have been through Bill McGrath's hands by now (McGrath Maserati are the top gurus for these cars) including the '67 QP that's for sale, so any of the old problems should be long gone by now. This is the one that's for sale near Market Harborough, the 1965 in the title is a mistake - the cherished reg' number on it in the video has been replaced by its original '67 number now... https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+maserati+quattroporte+vintagevehicles&&view=detail&mid=FB6E1F88DA8B0B6E3976FB6E1F88DA8B0B6E3976&&FORM=VRDGAR
  2. Can you remember if it was RHD or LHD David..? They built a total of 776 between 1963 and 1970 but only seven were ever RHD, at least four of which are still here in the uk (one of them a Series 2 built in '67 is currently for sale near Market Harborough...).
  3. Did someone say 'four doors' earlier...? The Maserati Quattroporte I was the fastest four door on the market when it was launched in '63....

  6. Pull up at the stop board on the down arrival, phone the North End Chargeman to find out where he wants you to put your train and he'll be sure to say ''Toe'tn me duck, what ya got for uzz...''
  7. Up The Junction - Manfred Mann (title track of the '67 film)

  9. On practicality you're spot on Alastair, but given half a chance and the requisite funds I'd definitely go for the meaty looking '67 / '68 Fastback. When designer Gale Halderman first penned his Fastback idea in '63 it was quite aggressive looking, much more like the '67 / '68 version but it was toned down at the request of Henry Ford II and became the '65 / '66 model where the roof stops in front of the bootlid. Typically Ford were constantly tweaking the sheetmetal of the Mustang and the more aggressive styling arrived in '67 with the roof sloping right back to the rear panel. It got even bigger from '69 onwards!

  13. My Mrs. woke me with the news this morning, very sad to hear, he was the very definition of 'legend' at his peak, a much overused term but so fitting in Niki's case. Often looked on as dry and clinical, but he had a wicked sense of humour and his friendship with James Hunt was warm and genuine despite being opponents on the track...

  15. Ladies and gentlemen I give you The Who and friends indulging in a spot of rock history... note Pete's authentic boiler suit for period correctness and be prepared to blown away by the amazingly authentic instrumentation, turn up the Marshall amps to eleven and dive in...

  20. Something old from across the pond with its own period twist... in the late '60s some Plymouth models were available with flower power toppings (and matching interiors in some cases) to cash in on the hip young types with more money than taste, I've only ever seen one example in the flesh which was quite an eye opener really! These days you can get almost anything you want done on a car wit ha vinyl wrap but in 1968 / 69 this was very unusual...
