  1. A few more pictures on the H&R, showing the dairy's loading dock, also some industrial building's baring the names of some members, then we come to the bridge with a 150th scale double decker (with internal lighting and tail light's glowing) all in all it has been good fun helping Mark out with jobs that need to be done also lot's of help from lan Hallworth, in the last picture we have two locos running light engine to Ruthin.

  2. l must say that l was really amazed at the quality and size of SMS on my recent visit to Bodgits railway pod, everything was neat and tidy and the running and sounds were great, but l felt he has gone as far as he can with no more room to do anything else, as every corner was packed with O gauge, or guitars...a great time was had anyway...

That raises a few issues George

Eastleigh seems to have conductor pots on every 6th sleeper. When I observed these at Haywards Heath they were every 4th sleeper.  I wonder what the rules are?

Good morning Paul, l found that there was no uniform in the placing of the pots some were 3-4-5 even 6 sleepers apart, so l guess l can place them wherever on 'Moss Lane' ??

That GUV is pretty atrocious, weathering isn't really my thing, but I think even I could do a better job. Some of the weathered 33012's we're pretty pour too, must depend who is on weathering in the factory on the day your item passes through! No sign of that new 33 you've been teasing us with?

Hi Al, The 33 in question (Dutch) should be with me very soon, she is having a sound Zimo chip fitted by my good buddy M Owen.

  5. l have never really been a fan of heavy weathering, as l feel that it ruins a loco, but l do like subtle weathering just a hint of grime, as David (Jintyman) does, all of his work is subtle and spot on, l hate it when someone fills the airbrush up with matt black and sprays it everywhere then calls it weathered ...

she looks stunning. She needs to get out and about a bit

Thanks lan, it takes hours to build, and seconds to ruin, the new owner managed to bend most of the valve gear up with careless handling (Heart breaking) but its all fixed now, as you say ready for some running...

    Hello George.

I thought the weathering on that GUV was not up to your usual high standards. It looked like a child with chocolate (or worse) covered fingers had been fondling it.  It was a relief to find out it wasn't your work.:)

    Ian.

Thanks lan, l just thought it would save me the effort, but it has given me another job to do....

Personally I don't have much time for factory weathered stuff and prefer to do it myself - albeit I have a large stock portfolio that needs doing!  I tend to weather things that I have built as I finish the painting which I why the RTR stuff sits there still waiting!

    Paul R

Cheers Paul l know what you mean, l just expected more for the money, l don't know if the used an airbrush even, as it looks like they have wiped it on, awful...

  9. Looked really nice in the box, but l was not very happy with the weathering when l got it home, at nearly 200 hundred pounds you would expect a better finish ? so l have started trying to remove the awful finish and do it myself, lesson learned ALWAYS INSPECT BEFORE YOU BUY !!! live and learn...
