To operate I use the stud contact (screw heads and electric pencil) method we all used 50 years ago, but has largely been forgotten nowadays. Simple, reliable, and effective.
But fails to operate like a lever frame which was the op's requirement.
I also like to operate my points in a 'normal' and 'reversed' manner, not just left and right or leaving them random in their last state of use.- 1

the same would apply if I made my own levers with a home made sliding finger switch on a bit of PCB.
A home made lever could use a push button or micro switch at the end of each throw, you just push the lever fully one way or the other then release, letting the spring action of the switch break the contact.

I would avoid the Hornby product as it does not operate in the same way the Peco switch does.
The Hornby one switches both outputs on each throw of the lever whereas the Peco only switches one and will work better if using a cdu.- 1

My only need for a stay alive is to maintain the sound on a loco as it goes through the polarity change gap on my turntable. Good track wiring does not help in that case.
My only loco to achieve this is the Accurascale Manor but saying that, the only other 'stay alives' I have are those that come pre-fitted to Zimo decoders, non of them appear to do anything.- 1

I bought a refurbished Dell last month, is there something I need to do to get it to update?

Measuring mine a while back I found I had 13kΩ between the track. Finding no obvious cause of shorts I have put it down to the graphite I use on the track, bridging over the insulated fishplates.

I have just tried on my account, and clicking on the first name, last name and telephone number fields makes them editable but it doesn't happen with the email address field.

Leaving despatch until next year suits me, as they won't then get bogged down or thrown about with the Xmas post.

Talk about delayed gratification...
Delayed gratification is the resistance to the temptation of an immediate pleasure in the hope of obtaining a valuable and long-lasting reward in the long-term. In other words, delayed gratification describes the process that the subject undergoes when the subject resists the temptation of an immediate reward in preference for a later reward that is more favourable. Generally, delayed gratification is associated with resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward later.
I'd sooner we talk about the Manor.

That's just the normal driving simulation, isn't it?
When you close the regulator the loco "coasts" or "drifts" and you should be able to hear the underlying clunking and the vacuum pump sounds. Then just lift the regulator and she'll start chuffing again - I hope.
Would it coast forever?
None of my other sound locos do it, when they reach the slower speed setting the exhaust beats pick up again.
-
I notice when it is running and chuffing away that if I decrease it a speed step the chuffing sound stops. I have to press F1 to get it back.
