I use a spring loaded tap follower when I need to tap a hole and mount the tap and tap follower in a pillar drill or lathe tail stock.
Well, I never knew about that. Just searched it on YouTube. I've learnt something this morning.

The welding on the cheap trestles is done in the workshops for the visually impaired. I have a couple where none of the welding is square.

the decoder has 8 wires so presumably I'd need two.
Unless the loco has lights you only need four wires.
If the decoder stays in the loco you would have two wires to the speaker and two for the pickups, if the tender has any.
If you move the decoder to the tender, which is what I would do, you still only need four wires, two to the motor and two for the pickups.- 1

You can buy pre wired 4 pin jst connectors like these.
For wire, I have stripped the cores from old computer cables, such as mouse, printer, keyboard etc.

Handset rotary controls are unreliable (the encoder) and fail on a regular basis with a cost for return and repair. I've given up with mine and just use the buttons now.
Bob
Did you not try the encoders from AliExpress. two for less than a fiver posted.
Mine is still working fine.- 2

It was originally priced at more than a standard 4 wheeled wagon from Oxford Rail.
Will the price of Oxford Rail wagons double when sold in a Hornby box? -
Are the two outputs of the PL-26 linked?

Are they a second run?
I thought the original availability was so hard to get that people could not make a full rake.- 1

If these have all sold out, where did they come from, or are they Hattons original allocation arriving late.

Once again we appear to have someone wanting something for nothing whilst expecting others to pay for his "free" entertainment. I give up!!
The implementation of the adverts will have added an extra cost to running the forum which also must be recouped.
I have decided not to sign up for premium, as after all the time, money and hair loss that has been invested in monetising the forum it is only fair that Warners see some return from it.- 1

It really is time that Warner's realised that the IT "professionals" they employ are incompetent.
They will also want paying, adding to the cost of running the site.
