  1. Nice set of photos Neil. Looking forward to seeing your new project.
  2. I do have a soft spot for 31's. May be something to do with seeing these run through Fremington with clay trains and the rumble across the bridge ....
  3. I know, but hey that's the trouble when you wander into the model shop! I think that I probably have enough locos to run 4 layouts now!
  4. Well, another new loco will be finding it's way onto Orchard Road - a second 31! Will need some weathering soon and will give me an opportunity to try out an airbrush (which I need to order).
  5. Don't hold your breath - will not be appearing anyway until end of April !
  6. Ah! Bit to early period for coffee maker, but a kettle with mugs ...... I was not thinking along these lines, something else is being planned, but need to get some more plastic strip ....
  7. Thanks - glad to be able to offer some inspiration. I have few ideas for some further additions later in the year - to go inside the shed - but keeping quite what these are for the moment.
  8. My Head's In Mississippi - ZZ Top
  9. Hi Rob, I thought that you appreciate seeing East Yarde in the flesh! There is actually so much that can be done with a small layout - adding the details and getting the scenics right etc. There is still more scope to do more, but too much! As I said yesterday, there is a very strong chance that the extension will get built, just need to get into the garage to cut up the wood! Oh, I need some ballast as well, having used all my ballast stock on Burrington Arms! Thanks Matt. I've really enjoyed working on this scene.
  10. Annual exhibition - Bear Street, Barnstaple
  11. Looks great Ray. What a difference a few buildings make to the appearance of the layout and adds considerable life. The guard rails around the point levers are a good feature, not often modelled. All you need now is a grounded van body .... I might know where you can find one ....
  12. Ah! But he knows about your modules .... Sorry, I won't be able to add a module.
  13. Updated exhibition appearances for 2012 - April 29th - SWAG day at Taunton June 23rd / 24th - Exeter July 7th - RMWeb day at Stafford July 28th / 29th - Plymouth Aug 4th - Minehead
  14. I think that you have got the wheel gauge wrong there Dave! Seriously though, does look very good and up to your usual standard, something that us mere mortals can only dream of! Don't go down the route of another polished loco - you will never live it down! Richard
  15. Looks like a labour of love there Bill! Are you going to be ready for any shows this year? If so, would be good to see. Richard
  16. Thanks Simon. There was certainly a need to do something at the back, behind the platform (I was going to call it a 'station' but doesn't really qualify for that!). There are trees behind the real halt, so I need to add these really. Plus, helps to frame the scene much better. I'm amazed how much interest a small 'layout' can generate. It has kept me occupied between other modelling projects and fun as well!
  17. The green bushes along the front and small pieces of the sea moss, with a little greenery added - fixed with hair spray. You always end up with little pieces from the sea moss, so good to make use of them!
  18. I've been making some additions to the scenics on East Yarde today. Firstly, I've added some hedges / bushes along the rear - rubberised horse hair, teased out and green scatter added, along with some taller plants from small sections of 'sea-moss', again with green scatter added. Secondly, and a bit more subtle, I've added some undergrowth along the front embankment using the mat used for the trees. This is teased very thinly, placed over the grass and sprayed with hair spray, then scatter lightly sprinkled on top. This is followed with another spray and a little more scatter, with a little yellow added for the flowers. A few patches have been sprinkled with yellow scatter. Also, a few pieces of sea-moss have been added, with a little red scatter as well. A few more details to add and then I think that this more or less finished. Although I still might add some telegraph poles and could do with a concrete post fence along one track side. Still considering adding another board, to double the length and I have just enough wood (if cut correctly)!
  19. Count me in Dave, along with Darren! You're not going to re-wire for DCC .....
  20. Hi Dave, Really looking forward to operating Charmouth at the next exhibition - it's been a while!
