  1. is looking for a source of sprung buffers for the front end of an A3 and V2 in OO without much success! Can anyone point me in the right direction please?!

Thanks for that, I'd tried various searches but not come up with anything, but those few key words may well be the catalyst! The Markits NE type look pretty close, but I can only find a line drawing of them thus far!

Sadly not, those are of the parallel type whereas V2s and A3s had/have a different shape, which look almost like a sink plunger with a buffer head on! Thanks though!

That's my routine for the start of my week, I was just restless and the less I slept, the crosser I got because I wasn't sleeping! Viscious circle!

Aye, I think wifey will be glad when its done, as the lounge won't be a modelling den anymore (and she gets a weekend of peace and quiet!)

  9. Apparently, you can use Cif etched brass kit cleaner to clean the sink and the cooker!

You can also use Mr Muscle model paint stripper to clean ovens! There certainly is foresight going into designing these products!

Thanks for that, I shall await a possible announcement with anticipation and the hope that I can hide whatever it may inspire from the domestic management!

  15. I knelt at my bedside last night and prayed to the good Lord that Monday should be free of knobs. That didn't work - I've just had to deal with someone who thinks that all of the site's facilities should be accessible to them even though they don't want to join RMweb as they prefer to spend their precious time modelling. Same s**t, different day then. ;)

    1. JaymzHatstand

      JaymzHatstand

if they owant to spend their time modelling, fair play, nothing wrong with that, but surely they'd then not haver time to use the site's facilities! Just because they have to sign up, doesn't mean they have to post, that's the beauty of this wonderful corner of cyber-space! Some people just don't grasp reality!

  18. Thinking of starting a new modelling scale, 2:1 scale. Only real modellers attempt a double size loco on a 2870mm gauge!

  19. Enjoyed "Super 8" on DVD. First (and possibly last?) film to mention "dry-brushing" in the context of weathering model trains?

    1. JaymzHatstand

      JaymzHatstand

I didn't see any hint of that in the trailers for it in the cinema! Is it a major plot theme?!

  20. "T gauge DCC users can expect limited function due to space constraints" - in other words its not big and its not clever!!!

    1. JaymzHatstand

      JaymzHatstand

Directional lights, sound and smoke coming soon! Three link couplings and a ready to run narrow gauge range are in development!

  22. may have to take a break from modelling for a while after my first child was born at 6.46am this morning after a 36 hour labour.

  23. Took my son to his first model exhibition today. He slept right through it!!! :D

    1. JaymzHatstand

      JaymzHatstand

As long as he's in his early years, that's acceptable, I slept through a Vulcan display at an airshow when I was 2!

  24. does anyone else get the temptation to fly an airfix (ok revell) spitfire round the room when it half built

      JaymzHatstand

You're only doing it properly if you make the noises to go with it!

  25. found some slates in the alley behind the house, a fair few doors down so they ain't from my roof, the are however in my back yard! They'll be going in FR slate waggons at some point! Mega score!

    1. JaymzHatstand

      JaymzHatstand

thanks for that, I think it's more a grey/blue than anything, but it certainly needs a wash, and leaving it in the back yard should sort that out once it rains!
