  1. Whilst that is what it says...can't help thinking there is a typo somewhere OR is it both open and closed on Saturday???
  2. The fact that my husband does it and constantly surfs this website and leaves stupid magazines on the bathroom floor!!!!!!! Michelle (serves him right for leaving it logged on on MY laptop!)
  3. The link is not quite correct, try this one http://www.railwayscene.co.uk/view.php?cat=Class 222 Good pictures. comparing to this link is just the trick http://www.railwayscene.co.uk/view.php?cat=Class 220 Regards Andrew
  4. Looking forward to seeing the pics when they can be uploaded. I have often considered getting one of the modratec kits.
  5. If they really were too expensive you wouldn't buy them! If lots of people didn't buy them the price would come down. I suspect that won't be the case. I happen to be in Liverpool on Firday...may just have to pop into Hattons to get myself a Christmas pressie.
  6. Not sure that having 'fine' back to backs is an error. In my opinion some RTR stuff has back to backs so small you could almost run them on 2mm track!
  7. We have a few pets and have had people watch them successfully many times, we have also watched over peoples. In the 16 years we have been married and doing this we have only ever had two incidences: We had an old cat and asked a neighbour to feed it for a week. The cat mostly lived outside anyway so we asked them just to leave food an water on our back step each day. All was going well until the neighbour came around half way through the holiday to find the cat dead on the door step. hardly his fault as we had been waiting for that event for some time, just unfortunate timing. The other incident was shortly after we married, at the time we lived in a flat and our only pet was a hamster. Before going on holiday we dropped it off with my wifes 8 year old brother to watch for two weeks. He took excellent care of it and was very diligent (according to the MIL). We arrived back two weeks later until all is well, it was a nice day and we were talking in the back Garden. Wifes brother brings the hamster out to see her, slips on the back step, and drops the hamster how quickly darts under the shed. After ages of trying to coax the little animal out we almost gave up hope, we were discussing alternative when the cat tunrs up, dead hamster in mouth.... Sill two incidents in all those years is not bad...and we have had plenty mare 'bad' incidents whilst we have been in charge... ...Good luck and if something bad does happen, don't try to cover it up, just own up!
  8. I think the slightly revised version with the left hand point looks a lot better. Looking good.
  9. OK, 45 minutes later and I have had a play with XtrackCAD...seems OK. Hopefully the plan is now below. I'll try to find some pictures, but for now the top right was the 'fiddle yard'. Sidings from left to right. 1. Had small goods shed, capacity 3 SWB wagons. 2. Siding with crane (between siding 1 and 2), capacity 5 SWB wagons. 3. Coal siding, capacity 3 SWB wagons. 4. Oil siding (with facility in space above siding, capacity 5 SWB wagons. Headshunt on far right had a coaling stage for the loco. Entry / exit line also had a platform so lots of operational options. The use of setrack meant it was not too prototypical, but you did get a lot into the small space available. Regards Andrew
  10. My first ever layout when I was about 15 was on a 6' x 1' board using a similar idea. Off to try and find a 'trial' track plan bit of software so I can post up the plan. Andrew
  11. Certainly look like an interesting project. I assume you are planning for the final thing to be fully fuctioning, as in forward / reverese, varaible speed etc. Where are you going to fit all thebatteries / radio control gear etc? Within a dummy loan perhaps? Lookign forward to more updates. Andrew

  13. I agree, frieightliners were definately air brake only. The Hymeks were also vacuum braked only when built, I don't think any were ever converted to dual braked.... Andrew
