Apologies if this has already been mentioned
How about some of those herring bone pattern brick sheets. The type everyone seems to use for turning their front gardens into carparks. You these these everywhere nowadays and i noticed that they are using them to surface some of the platforms on the WCML. They would make a pleasant change from tatty tarmac!

Brilliant work, i for one would be willing to assemble enough parts for a train or two
A few questions.
1. bogies - are you having a go at these as well?
2. power chassis - which one?
3. length between bogies - longer than a Mk4?
Finally tilting - not needed at all, we can elevate out curves if we want a tilt and anyway Pendolinos don't tilt when sitting in stations.
