A much revised version of one of my previous posts : A new soldier joins the army. He is told by his commanding officer that he must report all losses in a book, which is presented to him. A few days later, on coming back from a mission, he snatches up his book and begins to write. the officer leans over his shoulder, seeing the words : "Two fine young privates" The officer's eyes begin to fill with tears as the soldier quickly fills in another entry and leaves. Picking up the book, the officer is puzzled to find : "My grandchildren"
