About highpeakman

Profile Information

  • Location
Close to the GN & GE Joint Rly north of Lincoln.
  • Interests
Very broad interests but perhaps focused more on BR Midland - Derbyshire, Notts and Lincs areas in late 50s/60s - Wirksworth, Buxton, Cromford & High Peak in particular - Also GC Main Line around Nottingham + any Industrial railways (NG and Standard). Old enough to remember C&HP in working order, Trent Junction Station, Derby Works in full flow, Windcutters at Nottm Victoria, prototype Deltic at Grantham and a few other things I miss.A believer in modelling to capture the feeling/atmosphere of the time/prototype even if some details are not correct and of the right to run what I like.

  1. Getting dark out and heaving down with rain. Driving conditions not nice but some numpties driving on sidelights only (if any lights at all). Why? All cars should be wired so they cannot be driven with only "parking lights" on. Headlights on if ignition on - simple!

Yeah. Saw one of those cloaked clowns last night in high wind and driving rain. Must be frighteningly many people tired of their lives on the roads.

Headlights need to be on in fog and murk which does not require wipers on full time. Just be clear I am only advocating headlight use in poor visibilty whatever the cause although Icannot see a problem with being on all the time.

I would make it a legal requirement in Haverfordwest.
