Hi Sandy,
What material and size is the wire you have used for springing the axle bushes?

I have a lot of Tortoises under the baseboards all driven by three DAC20s from CML electronics.
http://www.cmlelectronics.co.uk/index.php/dac20
Each DAC20 will drive up to 8 point motors and costs £65 or £8 per point.
They are flexible and will do a lot of clever stuff too. The manual is available as a pdf download from the website.
No connection - just a happy customer.

The drop handle bar design was certainly extant in the 1920s - see http://classiccycleus.com/home/repair/bikes/
...and the Southern Railway sign may well have still been attached to that building way into the BR era.

Hi Sandy,
Why the Pitmann motor? Are you using up stuff you have in stock?

Hi Sandy,
I apologise if I missed it, but how did you solve the window etch vs. bonnet height problem?
Did you take a mill or two off the bottom of the casting?

Hi John. For the trailing wheel modifications, I cut clearance slots in the frames to aloww the axle to swing and rise and fall. Using the suplied cast axle block and axle bushes, I made a swing arm bolted to the cast block and loosely screwed a frame spacer. both made from scrap brass. I added a lead weight to the top of the arm to keep the wheels on the track.
The slot has bars soldered across the bottoms to prvent the wheels dropping to far when the loco is picked up.
From normal veing angle the taper is unnoticeable.
Thanks Ken,
I think I may have to similarly narrow the back end of a Watford Tank, that I have started this weekend, to get it around some of my curves.
Cheers,
John

Hi Ken,
Can you show us what you did with the trailing pony wheels on the POW?
Did you pivot them from between the 2nd and 3rd driven axles?
Thanks,
John

Hi Ken,
I think that translates as. "This is a cheap kit. What did you expect?"
I look forward to your build.

Hi Steve,
You need Gauge O Guild Gazette Volume 18, No 11, Page 50 in which Paul Chetter describes fitting a Zimo MX645 sound chip into a Bachman Brassworks 03. There are detailed instructions and a parts list.
