  1. In the absence of any response about the full version of WiThrottle, I today took the plunge and purchased through the App Store for £9.99. Initial impressions are positive. The Power On/Off button is useful as is the dual throttle- which I have got used to as a Digitrax user. image.png

There appears to be the possibility of operating points too but that is for another day.

    A good tenners worth.

It will manage turnouts and routes. My experience is that the twin throttle is a menace so I only use it as a single.

It’s good value and anybody showing up at your railway with a suitable phone or tablet can run trains

  2. I'm not going to differ. I think the current generation of Zimo decoders are well ahead of the opposition.

I use Paul Chetter's sounds whenever I can.

If in doubt telephone Digitrains -Jeremy and Nicole are nice people and they both know what they are talking about.

    I'm just a satisfied customer.

  3. The Exhibition Manager has asked me to post:

Huge apologies to people who had to wait longer than expected in the overflow car park for the shuttle bus transfers. By lunchtime we swapped the 19-seater for a full sized coach and we will have the big coach doing transfers tomorrow to prevent a recurrence of the problem. We are grateful to those who were patient whilst we have had these issues and we welcome the people who will be coming to see us tomorrow.

  4. Interesting letter in the Feb 2018 issue of the GOG Gazette (page 73) entitled "The Future of the GOG".

Firstly, interesting in that it was published in the first place (full marks for that).

    It starts off with:

"In my view, the Guild's future is dismal due to poor management and a total lack of leadership".

    It goes on to claim:

".....from our, is it nine, directors who collectively claim tens of thousands of pounds in expenses".

    And further on:

"Could not the Guild's huge funds, more than one hundred and fifty thousands pounds, that has been available for years...."

There is no response to any of these claims; I've no idea if they are correct or not (presumably the Annual Accounts would confirm or otherwise?).  What I do know is that the March Issue should prove a good read.....

One of the reasons that the Guild will thrive and prosper is that it is an open organisation that does not mute or silence criticism and comment.

Stories of the size of the Guild's reserves are a touch exaggerated I'm afraid.

  5. Breaking News – addition car park

Our Show is very popular so we have found a new area of additional car parking on hard ground (rather than wet field). Because this new car park is 700yds from the Wood Green gate we have also provided a shuttle service to and from the Show.

This shuttle will be in addition to the vintage bus service running to the railway station.

“After a busy morning of phone calls I have decided that the Kettering Show WILL go ahead as planned.

We will post details of Trader withdrawals for information at regular intervals.

Traders, participants and visitors must make their own decision as to whether they feel able to attend.
