  14. Rottingdean East Sussex County of Brighton & Hove- Home once to Rudyard Kipling and was once bigger than its westly neighbor.
  15. I have been catching up on your very informative blogs in my spare moments and just read this one. Of my two 14xxs (one Dapol, one Hornby) both are OK runners. I too seem to remember stretching one of the rear axle springs, which I don't recall. On inspection all rubber bands are absent! Wonders never cease. Way back the eager young sales man at Kemp Models of Hove, home of Perseverance at the time sold me a chassis kit and Airfix body. Alas my soldering skills at age 20 were naff to say the least. I might just fit the front Dapol axle to the middle of the Hornby chassis and swap bodies when changing periods. I'll try
  16. Thats the bubble car all lit up, now for the 117.

  17. Thats great! Not over scale at all. I like the way that the Austin A30 places the model some where between 1951 and 2013! My best friends mum still potters pottered about in hers for years!! Edit. R.I.P. Sally.
  18. Go for it Allan! I need to get the camera out again too.
  19. Nice tidy soldering! use a wire stripper and only take off about 6mm of insulation, tin the wire ends and conections first. Use a fine tip soldering Iron. It goes quick once you get the hang of it. Hope this helps.
  20. Don't put off what you can do today untill tomorrow, because today you might like it and want to do it again tomorrow!

  21. Easter bunnies. YUM!

  22. Brain wave at midnight........ I can make new end boards with an incline at the Minehead end of say 2 inches and a decline at the other end then run the Taunton bound trains under Minehead. This will give 18 feet length and 27inches width......... hummmmm...... There would have to be a 180 degree bend of course!
  23. A good search through some SD cards has yielded a result if only a poor one. These images were taken 4 years ago with Mrs Sasquatches pocket canon. Not many trains in them for some reason but they show some layout features quite well. The two ground signals are by ratio and mounted on thier N scale signal control kit. New discs were made from 2 pieces of punched 10 thou plastic with sweet wrapper sandwiched for the lenes. Small prairie on a down parcels. (Bachmann 45xx and Kirk monster) Great scenic work by Mrs Sasquatch Inspectors down from Padington maybe.......
  24. Hey! Happy Easter to you Don. I see that you too have seen the bunny!! Do you get good Friday down there in RSA? nobody has a clue what I'm on about here, it's definately not a holiday anyhow. Trying to find some more half decent pictures of my other layout to post up before bed! Shaun PS: It is full on spring time here in southern Oregon I was driving my truck in a Tshirt with the windows down before lunch. Nice!
  25. Thank you for the info on the double track and signaling. My signals are mounted on removable blocks so I will construct a single post signal and swap them when needed. Do you know if this post was tubular or square? I,ve also been looking for info on the signaling and box at Minehead. This just might is going to be my next project, replace the fiddle yard with a scaled down version of Minehead!
