Looking good so far, are you going for 3 platform face's or something smaller?
Thanks. Going for the 3 platform faces as per the original plan

Rather than get involved Christmas decoration installation today I took the chance to do a little 'real life' track planning.
Rather than using commercial laser-cut baseboards that I'd used on my Swiss HOm 'Santa Maria' and HO Freemo modules I decided to revert back to good ol' 2x1 softwood with ply decks. 2 900mm x 450mm basic boards and a sector plate
While I'd worked things through on AnyRail actually laying track out showed that the geometry on the PECO Bullhead Code 75 points in the software was a little out meaning thay the entry / exit road wasnt quite a so much of an angle.

“It’s a grey autumnal day. Probably not rain but grey and overcast none the less. The cold breeze whistles around the missing panels in the station canopy roof which adds to an air of neglect from the peeling paint and dirty windows of the station building. The headlines of the morning papers on the station newsagent stand talk of more industrial action. In the platform a work-weary DMU burbles and rattles in the platform waiting to depart while a Class 25 slowly pulls up to the pair of parcels vans loaded with orders despatched from the nearby Smallwoods mail order catalogue. ”
Rhodes Square is a small urban terminus in the NW of England set across the end of the 70’s into the first couple of the years of the 80’s. Passenger services handled by 1st Generation DMUs are the main traffic of various types but the nearby mail order warehouse provides parcels traffic powered by Class 25s or 40s. There are also a few sidings remaining to handle air-braked vans serving the local Metal Box factory and the occasional short engineers’ train. The track plan draws very heavily from Ian Futers’ ‘Victoria Park’ track plan for the station section. Track to be used is Peco Code 75 Bullhead with the 3 long radius points powered Czech made MTB point motors.
Overall size is 2700mm x 450mm

Good to see them getting used rather than gathering dust 🙂
On 26/07/2023 at 08:38, CloggyDog said:Many thanks to @warbonnetuk for the box of surplus Czech TT kits and bits he handed to me at LyddRail last weekend. 😁
I'll be making good use of pretty much all of it, indeed the 2 Detail wagon kits (Tams and Zav) are now being finished off ready for paint, the 830 shell has had the windows opened out and a start made on a chassis. The pair of 010 trailers will get added to tge (ever-growing) fleet of 810/010s!
I've also dusted off the resin Grumpy shell I got ages ago, as there are some bits in the box that will get that finished off too.
A useful resource for completing these older resin kits (and much more besides) can be found here: https://www.mojett.cz/aktualizace (use a browser with auto translate, such as Chrome)
Nové Město is next out at the Mid-Essex show in Shenfield on Sat 16 September and I've just accepted the invite to Model Rail Scotland in Glasgow for Feb 2024 ☺️

Fantastic photos @PaulRhB thank you. Knowing @warbonnetuk and @roundhouse for some years, and been along to a couple of these meets, discussions are afoot! It's just possible that you might be getting another operator at future events. Not necessarily me I hasten to add though, if the planets align and his interest is confirmed, I suspect I'll be browbeaten into some woodbutchery at a future date as well.
A bit of HO you say. Ah go on, go on, go on, go on..........

Hi Dan,
In the spirit of resuscitation, are you able to replace the original images or add new ones to the thread. I remember looking on here and being impressed by the weathering you'd applied to your 810.
I'm hoping to take delivery of a Roco M152 in late CSD livery over the weekend and will be looking to replicate a circa 1985-1989 condition.
Rob.
Hi Rob
I've added the photos I can find of the 810 project onto my Flikr account so they will be available to seen there.

Not posted for a while as layout has been in storage with no shows on the horizon. However with Santa Maria heading to the Erith MRS show at Longfield Academy, Longfield, Kent the last week has seen a bout of activity.
First is the addition of 2 more sidings in the fiddle meaning most stock can stay on the rails. A defective point on scenic side had to be replaced after diagnostics failed to find a lack of current in one direction in the frog. A couple of extra bits of stock were commisioned inc RhB 222 to head the heritage 4 wheelers. Finally a few more trees were added

Trader Update!!
I'm pleased to be able to add 2 additional traders to the show lineup. JB Modelworld is a show regular with thier range of stock boxes and foam insets as well as essential modelling tools. The other is a new trader to us in the guise of Barry Clements (Baztrains) who already well know for his 3D printed North American outline road trailers and specialist rolling stock sold via Shapeways. Barry will also have some smaller scenic details for sale e.g. USPS mailboxes and other street furntiture

As a finale to this particular thread I finally got round to procuring a Zimo NEM651 function only decoder from Coastal DCC. After installation it seems that all it gives you is constant interior lighting and directional tail lights so a little disappointed that MTB havent been able to utilise the full funtionality of the decoder i.e. being able to turn the interior lights on and off. Curse you Roco for doing the modern and as built Czech paint schemes first!!!

Great weekend at Barrow show - Barrow club lads put on a great show and showed us the usual fabulous hospitality.
The layout was a little frustrating with a couple of point frogs going "dead", one loco's decoder refusing to talk to the command station and loco pans jumping off the cat wires where I hadn't had problems. But overall it was great to play trains for a couple of days. Just need to start working down new 'snag list' ahead of next years SRS AGM
