What were the main stumbling blocks about the apt-p apart from the so called motion sickness reported by the press?
From what I understand after speaking to a retired RTC employee (he was active when I first knew him) only one person suffered fro motion sickness. Of course the UK press liked that and amplified the story.

Despite appearances DEMU's and EMU's were not compatible.
A discussion with a mechanic versed in such things one evening resulted in viewing some documentation to show as much.

Not yet but hope to run mine on clubs layout soon, Eastern part of the city

I emailed them as my email changed and wanted to check that I did order.
Replied quickly.

Yes that's right Neil. One of several crossings of this type I found in Prague - they must have got a job lot of them. Fascinating stuff. B
Ps, see how the wheels run on the edge of their flanges through the crossing rather than on their tyres.
Didn't that happen on some UK systems?
Glasgow springs to mind to convey standard gauge mainline wagons over the system.

Saw a TV programme with Malcome Mitchell, he recommended a good pair of craft scissors.
I have a pair of flower pruners which seem to cut brass OK.

Fopar - is that a cross between FUBAR and faux pas? Either way, a bit harsh for a tiny slip in this extraordinary build!
I always thought faux pas was French for the FU bit

Hmmm wondering how they would go with my SY.

Nice one Kev, thanks very much for sharing with me. This type should be easier to incorporate into my existing trackwork on the quays. I'll see how I get on. B
Lucky they hadn't changed it since my 1987 visit

Saw similar in Italy once. The Speno factory near Venice had one rail plated over to enable vehicle to get inside the workshop, sharp curve leading into.

I'd never heard of K crossing s until I joined RM Web.
What they really mean is Obtuse Crossing. Frog is only a modellers term for common crossing as it's common to switches (Points) and crossings. Pictured above as already noted is a "Switch Diamond"

Very Rare Traction
Devon is seldom the recipient of locomotives that Exeter crews aren't trained on, particularly on normal service trains. An example that springs to mind was a class 58 working through from Saltely to Plymouth which was well documented. Here we have a combination of 40/25 on the up Bitumen tanks from King's Asphalt. The 40 is the one involved in the Great Train Robbery 40126 along with 25209 of Bescot. A class 40 once worked through to Plymouth in connection with testing the washing plant at Laira in the early 1960's but apart from that they were rarely seen west of Weston - Super - Mare where they could turn up on excursions. The first arrivals of class 45's in the mid 1960's were by freights to Riverside Yard where we see this one departing 20/05/82. Class 20's have been rumoured to have reached Exeter but no photos have come to light yet. South Wales Class 37's were also known to have appeared long before their allocation in Cornwall. I don't know the source of this picture but it must have been someone keeping a close eye on workings to catch such a rare combination in the West.
Class 40's were booked on this working to/ from Riverside Yard.
Gloucester crew.

Here`s another from Crediton 47575, Oddly enough, I saw a picture of the same loco, running light engine through Crediton, (taken from a different angle, but presumably on the same day), for sale on e-bay. I couldn't see myself in the other picture though. Odd, because I don't recall seeing anyone else on the platform that day.
Make sure someone isn't taking your pic and reselling denying you payment.

American but some good mining stuff

Different loco in China https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/little-old-different-and-unusual-locomotives/photos/photostream/lightbox/332064466?orderBy=mtime&sortOrder=desc&photoFilter=ALL#zax/332064466
Looks like it was abetter loco with a tower added for pickup.
I leaned over the side trying not to touch whilst grounded, it looked rickety.
The place was deserted although faces started appearing at doors and windows as we (group) took interest an photos.

Hello John, are they the same as the DDR ones? I'm not sure, depends which ones you're thinking of I suppose. The ones I came across this trip (at a mine near Chomutov) are as attached photo. Looking at them again now I see they are rather too big to be trundling around QUAI:87 with just a couple of wagons, so I may have to come up with something a little more in keeping (unless Roco bring one out). Y'r right about the side pantos though.
I've been taking TREu since Nr 1 but cant quite place the article - the library mistress hereabouts is sometimes not always as attendant to her duties as she should be.
Regards, Brian
Interesting loco's.
Have seen similar operating in China (Coal and steel) alongside steam locos.
Also a narrow gauge of same make in Germany.

No idea what this is used for, but I think it would make a cracking model !!
Cheers,
Phil.
Donelli PD 350's.
Single line relaying gantries. Need a pair to lift sections of track. Operate on separate rails outside of the sleepers 10ft gauge.

Like battery loco's, fascinating things.

At last someone with a sense of reality!
Cheers

Agreed.
All in all it comes down to do you want a model of the APT-E or not?

Don't know if any still exist but have seen a wagon with that style of roof near Somerton in a field.
Just visible over the hedge https://www.google.com/maps/@51.056995,-2.696521,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s4DNo5Pqih8MbRY0oAhK-cg!2e0

the Sulzer V's were used in the Cuban versions, albeit unsilenced.

If print sized for HO for the 567 V12 and 645 V16 you could attract a large North American market.
Only mentioned that variant as being fitted to class 57's.
Perhaps modular prints ?
Also saw on thingingverse (I think) a Deltic OK only one line but would be interesting nonetheless
