Great topic Rick. Never considered weathering before. Loved my pretty, pristine locos too much. I have spent all my time just building the layout and getting it running properly. Thank you for all your generously supplied information. The brilliant photography helps a lot to get your points across.

I made the mistake of ordering from Rails..once. I waited two months for my order to arrive by airmail, only to discover that it had not been sent. They had advertised stuff they did not have. I eventually got them to send what they had. When it arrived two items, that I had paid for, were missing. I could not be bothered arguing with them anymore.

Beautiful modelling. These pictures spur me on to start another layout. The sea looks great. How did you get that realistic effect of waves/surf and disturbed sand ?
