  1. £95 is a fair price for a modern designed Loco. It has been discussed before that if you apply VAT increases, inflation, raw material price rises, increased wages, increased shipping costs, increased customs tax to a model launched in the 70's you will probably come to a price higher than £100.

One other comment to make is look at how much fuel has gone up during the last 3years of recession, in that time I have had a 28% pay cut and no pay rise on the horizon.

Why should the model manufactures reduce margins because other Bussiness are bleeding us dry, with massive profits. Dapol and Farish are small bussiness, with possible low profits, that help keep people employed.

Apologies for going on a rant and of subject.

The HST looks great and I get a B/G when next batch are released.

  2. Looking good. I tried a layout built on insulation boards (type with foil on) and found it a nightmare. I kept denting it and then could not get the track flat and level. Gave up and started a new layout made of ply. I look forward to following this one.

  3. The detail is a lot finer than I first expected. I like Ben are an N Gauge modeller and I am trying to evaluate whether this has any applications in N. Unfortunately I thing I am going to have to learn 3D design and try and get some test shots done. This is definitely something to follow up, I might even try in on a Nn3 kit and possible a building.

  4. I would agree stick with N and carry on with the other layout, although you could build it in the loft along the exhibition route. By making it for an exhibition you make it movable even if you don't intend to go to an exhibition with it. That way you will always be able to pack it up safely when you move and not have to chop it up.
