  3. missy are you going to have working lights inside the rail car as well ?? im not being funny but you would not surprise us with your level of detail
  4. the bar is going higher and higher every time
  5. having had chance to review the progress and realising part of the problem is my lack of tiny weeny drills lol i am now buying lots of odd tools ( that i used to have many years ago ) and the plan is to start fresh with a new chassis .. mark 1 will be placed in view to inspire me to better things . I like Dons idea of photo's and will have a go at doing this just spent a heart wrenching hour sorting out ant throwing away a box of part started . not finished aircraft kits ............... but have found all sorts of odd bits of etched brass lol
  6. Missy just seen the comments re light levels you can ge all manner of flori tubes from pure white to colour matching and any shade in between . the standard 5" flori fitting can be dis assembled and put in boxes with wires to the lamp holders. for some one who has made 2mm FS 'WORKING ' ground signal this should be easy Nige
  7. Andy Its the 10 foot wheel base part no 2-333 and any jokes about it being half a beast to make are wrong on many levels lol I do not have any real questions as I have been through most of this site ( its really helpful ) It is not a hard model to make its just the instructions could be a little clearer they are 1 A4 page of closely typed writing with an exploded view with a model of this ........... complexity i would have expected 2 or 3 pages with diagrams for each stage
  8. Pete i have build plastic models for many years . aircraft mainly , I feel I may just take the 2mm instructions and revamp them for others .as they are a little unclear in some areas. perhaps add a series of step by step pictures A LA airfix
  9. Missy ( this user bows in awe ) thanks for that did you get the ground signal to work ??
  10. the blue ones look a bit like lupins
  11. mmmm had my first attempt at an etched under frame they is bloomin small and a little hard on the instruction side .......... its not quite good enough to post a pic on its own so when i have done the 2nd one i will put pics up alsoooo havin a go as a simple home signal . Missy has got me in the way of wanting it to work with lamps and spectacles n levers . SWMBO is getting me the wild swan book on scratch building semaphore signals for xmas
  12. John as a happy customer and with regards to you quick single ideas . how about some line side boxes and the old fave the ww2 pill box maybe a small byre / shed they should go on one sheet could i suggest an Island platform building also , i down loaded the large station to get the one of there ........... now find myself looking at the main building tooo lol.

  16. In the 1800's the midland saw a chance for some well earned custom with a feeder line from the small market town of Grandbrough to Rugby an act of Parly was passed and the line build .a couple of years later the GWR got together with the Midland to travel the opposite way. After a few back handers The GWR was allowed to make use of the bay platform to the south of the Midland station .

    in the begining

After many years away from rail way modelling, and now having space for a simple N guage terminus layout in my ' compact flat in W London' a start was made. After a few weeks of on off work the un scale ness of code 80 track became aparent!! ALLLLL Stop an investment in Templot soft ware http://www.templot.com/ was made and a disign started. The layout will be 2mm fine scale branch line terminus '' some where in South Warwickshire'' and be a LMS station with a GWR branch to add some green ....more history to follow over next few posts. Thanks to a very understanding Girl Friend ( thanks Pat ) her garage is providing a work shop to assemble 12mm and 6 mm ply into 3 base boards 1 main is 1.1 m x 45cm and 2 1.1cm x 40cm Being a bit of a magpie / womble i rescued some aluminumn i section from a skip to make a light weight support frame. Photographs will be added as and when they are taken. one of the people who have inspired me is Missy ............. Highclere thats the level of finish i am aiming for
