  1. Any additional pictures would be a great help- it is very much a long term project, but as photos seem to be comparatively rare of Wincanton, any you would be willing to share would be much appreciated.
  2. That is super, thank you both. I'll get that book ordered, and thank you very much for the plans. I've not tried scratch building before, so should be an interesting challenge!
  3. Good morning. I was wondering if anyone had any book or website recommendations for pictures/dimensions of the Wincanton station buildings? I'm considering having a go making them but can't find many decent pictures at all. Many thanks, Don
  4. I ordered through the website after a email discussion with the owner. Took a few days for it too clear customs but it wasn't much of a snag. For sound I'm sourcing a decoder, and will link it to the radio gear provided.
  5. Apologies for also butting in, but the S-Cab system can be used in the UK, as the kit can be supplied with UK frequencies. I've used it in a 48XX, and am hoping to do a sound fitted 3F shortly. It was the immediate availability of sound which drew me to it over the protocab system.
  6. It's a kit built loco with metal gears- definitely had rust on them. After a spray and a bit of oiling it's running happily again- though I admit the WD40 did make a bit of a mess!
  7. Thank you all for your help. After resetting the decoder and swapping it to a different loco showed that there wasn't anything wrong with the decoder, the fault was narrowed down to the motor. Looking at it, I think 2 months in the garage and not enough oil have caused some corrosion to the gears- not much but apparently enough. A good spray with WD40 and a light oiling will hopefully restore it. I think in the future I'll keep it indoors....
  8. Hello, I suspect the decoder is irredeemably knackered, but though I would seek guidance first. Having left a loco for 2 months, when using it again it initially hummed but didn't move, on dismantling it and checking the power through the decoder wires, there is no power going through the grey wire (back to the motor). Does anyone know of a way to resolve this? Any advice much appreciated.
