  1. I'm really pleased that I asked this thread as the replies have been great but I have to ask one thing, what was a "Booth" car? I assume it was a MkI conversion from a buffet or restaurant car.

Nice to see from pictures that BR kept hold of some Gresley and Thompson coaches and sent relatively new MkI' for scrap.

  2. Hi gang, I recently purchased a Hornby Gresley Buffet in B/G as I really liked it and I read that one used run in the formation of the Cambridge Buffet Express.  I would really like to try and imitate this train and wondered if anyone could help.

I assume it would have been made up with Mk I's and hauled by a Class 31?  Does anyone know what the headcodes of these trains would be?

    Thanks,

  3. Interesting to see how some Bachmann and Heljan R-t-R wagons can be used to creat some of LT's engineering wagons. Be nice to see some more LT brake vans apart from a repainted Bachmann BR version. I would love to see a kit of LT's FB.578

  4. I am starting a modern LT layout which I plan to call "Hillingdon Hill" as I used to live there in the early 80's when I was a driver on the Bakerloo and Jubilee, later the Met and Circle.

I alrady have the recent Bachmann LT Pannier Tank fitted with DCC and sound, Kernow's Models Beattie Well Tank, a Hornby 4-VEP in NSE and the EFE preserved 1938 stock. I want to use Radley Models A60 stock and Met Loco in time, has anyone had experience in building these kits?

Following these posts with interest and hopefully post some pics soon.
