Steadfast
Hi all, I'm after suggestions for something along the lines of Evergreen 4031 clapboard, but with a smaller pitch please. Ideally I'd like 0.3 or 0.5mm spacing, the smallest Evergreen do is 0.75mm. This picture shows the two grills I'm trying to replicate, in N. Failing any smaller plastic, I might have to look to see if there's any models I can butcher or cast from. Many thanks Jo

Interesting, cheers. I hadn't thought of etches. A quick Google suggests £7.22 from a UK seller. Will have a measure of the model when I'm back home Jo
87023Velocity
Hi Jo, I have used a cut down Shawplan 4mm class 37 nose etched grill to form the grill on ADB975422 (ex Lab 6). A full width grill is approx 7.5mm and could be cut to the correct height. I cut holes in the body to fit the grills rather than overlay. KalKat
I have "skrawked" louvrey type things in plasticard with sawblades before. Typically the back end of razor saws (often the only bit that's still sharp) using a square and taking my time. Emma
RMweb Premium PaulCheffus Posted May 27, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 27, 2022 Hi I have some Evergreen N car siding ref 2020 and as best as I can measure it’s 0.42mm pitch. Cheers Paul
Steadfast
Thanks for the thoughts all, food for thought. The razor saw idea did cross my mind, but can I find it on the desk of doom... no! Simon, @87023Velocity, I have those 37 grills somewhere, I did the same on my 999508 with the narrow ones. Will have to dig them out of my etches box and see how the width looks. RMweb Premium Dave John Posted May 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 28, 2022 Another possibility would be Archers resin transfers. http://archertransfers.com/AR88057.html I haven't tried their louvres, but I have found their rivets and so on to be useful.
