RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted August 19, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 19, 2010 Hi all I got bored waiting for Hornby or Bachmann to do their 75XXX in lined green with a BR2 tender and double chimney so went ahead and bought a Bachmann 75027 with a single chimney. My intention is to renumber it as either 75005/8/22, all of which served late in the day on the North Cornwall and had double chimneys. Can anyone give me any leads on who produces a suitable casting to replace the existing single chimney with a double? Thank you.

RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted August 19, 2010 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 19, 2010 Hi, Try here http://www.247developments.co.uk/loco_detailing.html Stu Thanks Stu I'd looked through the Gibson catalogue and found nothing. I'd forgotten about 247. I presume it's a white metal casting??
Guest Max Stafford
If you get no joy there Chris, I have a plastic one left over from an Ivatt 4MT conversion that might be useable for your loco. Gratis, of course! Dave

Guest Max Stafford
No probs Chris, I suspect that Bachmann will have developed the tooling with a view to interchangeable chimneys. It may well be removable without too much effort! Dave.

bike2steam
Sorry to rain on your parade guys, but the Ivatt double chimney was totally different to the ugly tallish Swindon specimen attached to the Standard 4 4-6-0.
ianwales
Hi all As the previous reply says, for the locos you mention you need the Swindon Double chimney, unfortunatly, the only casting I can remember being produced was in the old Crownline range. you would be very lucky to find one of those now.
