Gordon A
Many years ago I remember seeing rail built barriers used to prevent vehicles straying onto the line or going over the side of a loading ramp. Does any one have any dimensions such as the hight, and spacing of the posts, or any pictures. Many thanks Gordon A Bristol
RMweb Gold 96701 Posted January 22, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 22, 2011 I seem to recall there were some on Perth station. They were good to sit on, so they'd be about the same height as a low seat, say 18" (450mm), and they were fairly short, presumably so that they were manhandleable (obviously not a real word, it's got a wiggly red line under it).I'd guess at no longer than 3'(9550mm)

Pete Harvey
Gordon I hope the attached pictures will help. Sutton Coldfield station in the early 80's had this sort of barrier in what was the old Motorrail/Goods yard until it was remodelled in the mid/late 80's early 90's. That gave me the idea of what to use on Willaston Road Pete
