Some more trees

Re6/6

Some more trees and an armature for Balcombe. These are all experimental ATM and will be placed at the rear of the layout. I've still got to improve on tree recognition and produce better models of particular types.

Some of these will probably be removable for use on other projects. The smaller ones will be used on the Matford rebuild on the new extension board.

likewise!

They are very convincing and much better than I can do at the moment.

I have some to do for my new layout so, a step by step guide to your method would be nice.

Other than that just a list of materials used would be handy.

Cheers!

The shape of these trees is excellent. The only comment I'd make is their colour. Obviously the tree on the left has the lush look about it, whereas the one on the right has the late-summer tinge to it. The viaduct crosses part of the country that was once ancient english woodland and AFAIR their are few imports... mostly oak, beech, birch, etc. The colous wil therefore need to be balanced to a degree if a seasonal appearance is to be presented.

This is nitpicking I know... so I apologise for that... but it would be nice to see the trees blend together as they do in reality rather than stand in stark contrast.

Oh, and this morning the viaduct was seen to have a wonderful red firey orb hovering over it - first time I've see the sun risen over the horizon as I passed the viewpoint that allows the viaduct to be briefly and majestically seen this year on my way to the office.

Please don't apologise Jon! Criticism is what I'm after. You're quite right about the colours. The armature has only had green weathering powders applied but no paint. I've got to get some Tamiya acrylics (as recommended by Gordon in his book) to get the trunk colours right. As for the foliage, it's a bit too 'nuclear green' and needs 'letting down' with maybe a chrome yellow or brake dust blow over. The main object is to get the greens subtly different. These will all be put behind the viaduct!

Oh dear, now you got me thinking....!

Many thanks for the complements all.

I will do a 'how to' when I feel confident that I've got my methods right!
