Some members of DRAG attended our usual village hall venue last Saturday and put our test track up, to ensure that all was working correctly on it, prior to Scaleforum this coming weekend.

NIck Rogers (Brinkly) and Maurice Hopper discussing something, not sure what. Not sure who's imitating who, either:

Rod Cameron (10800) and Andrew Howlett sorting out the DCC side of things, prior to running the Blue Pullman on DCC:

Group discussion, John Farmer (Re6/6) on the left:

My arty farty attempt at a 'pan' shot with my phone's camera on Nick's Class 33:

Another attempt, this time with my 56XX hauling a rake of Nick's part-completed cattle wagons:

We had trains moving simultaneously on all 4 P4 circuits and the OO circuit, there are four of the five trains shown in this view:

We in DRAG are extremely serious about saving the Scalefour Society money and keeping costs down. At the end of the session, our Transport Manager Maurice Hopper begins the first of twenty round trips to Aylesbury, to get the boards there in time for the weekend:

Cutting mat worn out?  Never made an etched kit before?  Better half fed up with all those knife marks in the dining room table?

What you need is a Scalefour Society 40th Anniversary cutting tile!  Complete with felt feet to prevent it slipping or scratching.

I will have a pile of these to give away at Scaleforum.  Just come and find me at the "Building Pre-Grouping Wagons" demonstration and ask for one.

I'll have a fair quantity with me.  For those only planning to visit on Sunday, I'll be keeping back half the number from Saturday to ensure they are available on both days.

Advance ticket's for Scaleforum, will be available for two further days, Wednesday and Thursday. If you're coming and haven't got your ticket by Thursday evening, you can of course buy your ticket at the door on Saturday or Sunday.

All the Best
Danny

Won't be able to attend after all, sadly.  It's one of those weekends where there are loads of events of various sorts on but I will be going to Halifax show (by train) to collect some items I've got on order for my Drybrook Road layout.

Never mind the layout; I thought the working Solari destination board was brilliant. I could have watched that thing all day!!

It's even on YouTube:

Gremlins when I was watching so no DCC sound and no flicker board. All up and running it seemed when I left and yes, it's very impressive. I'll be looking out for it again that's for sure.

My first ever visit to Scaleforum was the most encouraging and uplifting exhibition I've been to - Shelvington is the most convincing "might have been" I could imagine, the trade took quite a lot of money from me (for one show anyway), and from the test track I know three of my locos really are run-in and can pull a respectable train. Two super days - thank you to everyone involved, this was great.

I spent the day at Scaleforum today.

Here are a few (possibly a few too many!) pictures of some of the layouts.

Sidmouth by my friend Richard Harper.  This is all one mans work over a period of about 10 years.

Shelvington.  I thought this was superb, just like I remember NSE stations 30 years ago.  The display board was an exhibit all on its own.

Lee on Solent.  I loved the cameos on this layout.

Overall, an excellent show and well worth the trip up from the Bristol area.

Just got home from Scaleforum. Fantastic as expected. Got a couple of wagons made on the DEMU stand over the weekend, and bought a few items, some bargains from the Bring & Buy stand.

I seem to have left my walking stick behind somewhere though! I last remember it being near the car (outside the front) or maybe even on the roof (!). Hopefully it might be found by someone. Guess I'll have to pester the physio dept for a replacement, or buy one.

I think I saw a walking stick on Harvey road on the road out of the stadium

Hopefully someone found it and it might get back to me, but if it wasn;t outside the front I don't hold out much hope unless someone from the Scalefour society picked it up.
