Rail Express August 2017. Delayed, distribution problems ?

Visited my local WHSmith store here in North West UK on Friday 28th, but unusually the magazine has not been delivered to the store. 

 

Went on to Rail Express website, but no mention of any delays or distribution problems.

 

But also as of now (31st) doesn't mention the August issue as the latest issue. (still showing July as current issue).

 

August issue should have been available on 21st.

 

Anyone else had any probs getting hold of print copy ?

I got my copy from WH Smiths in East Grinstead last Saturday. They only had 2 copies left cunningly hidden behind 7 copies of the July issue. Nearly caught Mrs KDG out with that. Your branch may have sold out.

Hope you manage to get one.

 

This issue, especially the Modeller section seems light in content mostly adverts news and reviews which are useful. One article on IDA wagons.

Picked up my copy last week at my local Smiths. They do seem to sell quickly as there was only one copy left today.

I actually asked the assistant at the time about it and he went onto the store computer and confirmed the store had not received a delivery of the magazine. He suggested I give them a call in a few days, in case they get some delivered.

But I'm not going to be able to make another visit.

 

Anyway I've just gone on Morton's (REx's publisher) website and ordered a print copy direct, so should be with me in a few days.

Since the publication date has changed to Friday I have only been able to get one issue from Smiths in Shrewsbury that was last months, there were still some there last Saturday but no sings of this months, real poor show.

Thank you for the alert.  I find that my subscription copy has not yet arrived.  I have sent an e-mail and will phone tomorrow.

I had real trouble getting hold of this months copy, took me a week to find it in any smiths none of the railway station based branches had it, finally got it yesterday in dumfries

It obviously doesn't sell around here as there's quite a few copies in smiffs, the co-op and Tescos. Tesco might not register to most chaps minds for railway mags but my local one has all the big sellers and I do find it useful to have a read when the misses drags me off to do the shopping ! ( " you've been reading those magazines again, I brought you along to help me shop " ........)

It seems that my original subs copy is at the bottom of a mailbag somewhere.  A replacement arrived in my absence on holiday - at least I think that's what is in the plain brown envelope ...
