brianusa
All I can say is that I have the feeling that I've actually been there and seen these places. Brian. Edited August 21, 2017 by brianusa
Damo666
I'm affraid I shall have to disappoint you, Damo. Those 'nibs' you encircled are where other components were attached to the fret...... Oh you haven't disappointed me, anything but. And you know, I believe you could have said "Yes, I thought I'd have a go at some window handles" and everyone would have totally accepted that, for your attention to detail is incredible. allan downes
Here's a loose take, a very loose take, on Perth Engine Shed. About the only resemblance is the architecture, apart from that it could be anywhere. In the World of compromise Railway Modelling must surely be right up there on the top I mean, London to Edingborough . In the boxroom. Surely not. But try telling that to a railway modeller. Cheers. Allan.
allan downes
Anyway, enough of Perth Engine Shed and a few signal box piccies instead. In my opinion, Peter Leyland ( aka Gravy Train on RMweb ) is the absolute master when it comes to building these so. and well and truly standing in the master's shadow, I present you with my own humble efforts. No particular prototypes here, just anything that looks like it could change a few points I suppose.... Cheers. allan downes
Just a short blast this time. Something chosen at random from my files - a seaside hotel. You know the kind of place. Bearded landlady. No willing woman after 10 o clock. No willing women before 10 o clock. Breakfast 6 am to 6 minutes past. No food to be consumed in bed or under it, No food to be consumed anywhere even between 6 am and 6 minutes past. 10 weeks in advance. Deposits returned subject to amount of sand/willing women found in bed and just the slightest suspicious looking stain on sheets. Skid marks on the bathroom towels. Skid marks on the bathroom floor. Showing the maid rude pictures. Paying the maid to dress like the rude pictures. Paying the made to dress like Lily la Femme. Paying the maid not to dress at all. Etc, etc, etc... Cheers. Allan. bgman
What everyone else has said both here and on other threads, I don't think anyone will top your work Allan, an absolute delight each time you have posted something. Thank you so much for the inspiration ( and perspiration at times ! ). Grahame
RMweb Premium Welly Posted August 22, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 22, 2017 Here's a loose take, a very loose take, on Perth Engine Shed. I swear I was looking at photos of an actual vacant industrial unit available to let!

allan downes
We're out later for a bag of chips and two forks down on the front at Cleethorps so, meanwhile, I'll leave you with this, a bit of line side industry and leave Blackrat with the hotel maid . Cheers. Allan. And another signal box as a bonus !

RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted August 22, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 22, 2017 Allan , have just found your thread. No rating is adequate for your work Just showed them to my good lady who cannot believe they are models! Have to do some architecture on Abbotswood MK2 if I can get 25% of what you have done I will be happy Kind regards Phil
RMweb Premium Dave John Posted August 22, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 22, 2017 The devil in me ( Its the whisky ye ken ) just wants to nick all the pictures of these buildings and then set up a spoof estates agents website. Really it would be fun to see how few folk realise they are actually models and start to bid stupidly large amounts of money for them. Ok, its a daft thought, but I'm off to bed giggling at the idea.........
bgman
Dave John, Deja vous ! I showed my daughter and she said the same thing ...so.....Flogit & Rhun could be advertising these in their show window by the end of the week Your R.Ipoff
BlackRat
Alan...another request! How demanding am I ( funnily enough, that's what the maid said!)..... Any chance you could post the video of how you use the wood dye/ talc/ black spray paint to get that amazing effect on the Wills plastic please? Pete the Elaner
if I can get 25% of what you have done I will be happy I share that sentiment. Every building on this thread is at least excellent & some are far beyond that. The cathedral is simply stunning.
allan downes
Alan...another request! How demanding am I ( funnily enough, that's what the maid said!)..... Any chance you could post the video of how you use the wood dye/ talc/ black spray paint to get that amazing effect on the Wills plastic please? I'm not sure I ever maid such a video BR. But I do have a step-by-step of how it's done somewhere so I'll see if I can dig it out later. Cheers. Allan
allan downes
Something different this morning - American mine structures and there's quite a lot of it so please bear with me as it's gonna take some posting and that's not to mention some American mountain narrow gauge to come later. Everything here is made out of bass wood - tons of it, and a ten strip bundle from Ebay goes nowhere ! Cheers. Allan

allan downes
Just bought a new scanner so this is a test shot. Cheers. Allan Hmm. Don't think much of that. The scanner's in for early retirement ! Edited August 23, 2017 by allan downes
allan downes
Right. The scanner's in the bin and, for any body thinking about buying one, don't buy an Epson. Absolute crap. Anyway, sticking with all things Yankee, here's some American clap board for y'all - and there's plenty of it cos I built plenty of it ! And why did I build plenty of it ? Dunno really. Just found a book that was full of it. Like you do. Cheers. Allan.
bgman
Wrong scanner eh! Allan ? You should have updated it to the latest model, mine works perfectly...... H.Pachard
