RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted November 25, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 25, 2010 I always enjoy a good look at Plattling Station webcam in southern Germany. A fine time waster! Any ideas out there for others. I'm particularly interested in Swiss. Austrian and German sites. I've had a trawl around but haven'y been able to find anything. Plenty listed on Google etc but the sites all seem to be adverts to sell holidays, tickets and other stuff that I don't want! A list on here might be an useful resource. It could also include ones here at home (if there are any!)
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted November 25, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 25, 2010 Here's another (well several actually) - narrow gauge this time. Move your cursor over the binocular symbol to get a list and click on the one you want http://www.hsb-wr.de...dah/dah_bhf.htm

Mike at C&M
http://www.railcam.nl and then click on camera 1 Not a station, but the level crossing just east of Mierlo-Hout station, between Eindhoven and Venlo, in Holland. This is a livestream, so not stills, such as on the Plattling webcam. Unfortunately, freight traffic has fallen away recently with the opening of the new freight route to Emmerich, from Rotterdam. But if you get bored, you can always watch the traffic lights change!
RMweb Gold DaveF Posted December 19, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 19, 2010 I've just come across this website: http://www.railserve.com/RailCams/ The top part of the page consists of links to North American rail webcams. Further down the page are links to web cams on railways around the world, many in Europe. I hope this hasn't been posted before, I've not been able to find a reference to it on RM Web David
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted December 19, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 19, 2010 http://www.railcam.nl and then click on camera 1 ange! I don't see it, just an advert for CTI security! EDIT - it needed some weird browser plug-ins to make it work, now working OK! Keith
RMweb Premium Chris116 Posted December 19, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 19, 2010 I don't see it, just an advert for CTI security! EDIT - it needed some weird browser plug-ins to make it work, now working OK! Keith If you click on the 'double' sign you get cameras 1 and 2 which shows the trains in both directions. 'multi' has a third shot of the railway plus some other weird shots of no interest to us. Chris

busnut
Olten station is so busy! Does it just have Swiss locomotives on freight trains? If so what types please? You're not kidding. I watched it between 1130-1345 swiss time today and saw 24 freights, 2 light engines and the Am843 shunt in and out twice (1144 + 1244). It seems to be busier for freight between xx30-xx00 each hour as there appears to be less passenger trains in this period. Freight types seen so far include: SBB Re4/4, Re6/6, Ae6/6(red one), class 482 and a cargosprinter MPV unit. BLS Re4/4(brownies), class 465 and 485. DB Traxx(class 185) Crossrail Traxx(class 185/186) and Re4/4. Passenger trains: Most are class 460 with some Re4/4 and a class 450 Zurich s-bahn set does appear on a few workings. ICN services are in the hands of class 500 units. DB class 401 work ICE services and ex-Cisalpino ETR610 also work through. Local services are worked by class 560 Colibri and various Flirt units. Think that's everything. It's good to see plenty of postal trains! Doug
motorcycle
Think that's everything. It's good to see plenty of postal trains! Doug Thanks very much for the information. I've yet to see a postal train, what are they hauled by and what coaches are they please? *edit* it's not as easy as Plattling to take screengrabs. But I just saw this go through Am I right in thinking that the locomotive is this one? http://s5.directupload.net/images/user/090916/8clgiczv.jpg Also it's so funny seeing all the trucks on the wagons on the freight trains! *edit*#2. In the 30 minutes since I posted this, I've seen 12 freight trains!
brian daniels
Doing some train spotting in Olten tonight and I see that you have a live departure board next to the picture and if you click on the IC/IR you get the train formation come up! When will we get the loco numbers though
Erik Baas
Plattling is indeed very nice, thanks for Olten! I didn't know that one, I added it to my website, where you can find over 400 links to webcams showing trains, metro's and/or trams. :-)
