Progress: Ivana the Ivatt, and N gauge 'toplights'...

Well, things are proceeding slowly, but reasonably succesfully, with the miniature N gauge Severn Valley diorama, at least in terms of poplutating it with stock:

Ivana after her 'Dapol Facelift', with a little more paint, numbers and a ham fisted attempt at subtle weathering:

Not bad considering her humble N gauge beginnings!

I am also quite pleased with my 'toplight carriages': a mixture of old Farish bits, windows and roof (on the third class carriage.. the one with more doors) from Ultima, sides printed from adapted photos taken on the SVR... and last but by no means least, N brass doorhandles!

Hi Will

Some great 'kitbashing' there, the Ivatt is really looking the part now!

Great Toplights. The photo where you are holding it really sets the challenge of this kind of work in N into perspective.

As for the sides, did you simply print some side-on photos and stick them directly on? Can I ask what type/thicness of paper you used?

Hi Mikkel, I will cobble together a 'story so far' for my next blog entry, coming soon... ;)
