1,442 views

My little 735 is now ready for painting I think. It just needs a very good scrub and then will need to be primed and parked up in the paint shop until the compressor comes.

 

Just a few shots to show before the final cleaning stage. Hope I have not missed anything, Feel free to say if you noticed anything not there.

I used to think a terrier was small till i placed it next to a manning wardle Old Class I and now the terrier looks massive in comparison!

I quite agree, the only MW I have made is the one in my profile picture. Which was quite small, until it came to the cab.

Well done, looking good, but I don't think that I would have had the heart to put the stovepipe chimney on such a nice little engine, a flared one was still used with the other details, but then some folk do like stovepipe chimneys!

Matthew, I am afraid I am one of those that like stove pipe chimneys. I have used them where I could on most of the Southern engines I had for myself in EM.

On 735 I wanted something that looked as different as I could for the Terrier. I just could not westernise one.

Stovepipes; the best looking of all chimneys...well, to my eyes, at least! But then the LSW and GE shared many aspects thanks to Adams' ties with Stratford's design office, even after he had taken the job at Nine Elms.

 

Handsome little model. I've got a handful of photos of 735, but none of the rear to check those lamp irons for you. There were a number of differences between having the LSW livery applied for the first time and being taken over by the Southern, and I can't see anything you've missed.

 

Are you sure it's got to be Southern and not the lovely LSW livery?

Thank you. There are not many photos of 735 at all. Lucky to have any.

Yes it would look lovely in the LSWR livery. I but I have the where with all to do the SR one, I would have to wait to get all the paints here, and that can take 60 days. But my main reason is my own modelling is circa 1930
