Goods checker J. Peerybingle was tired. It had been a long day in the goods depot, and his feet hurt.

Life is so dull, he thought. I should have gone to sea. I should have married Emily.

He looked up at the skylights. There was a bird up there. Was it a crow?

He thought: How lucky birds are, how free.

Up on the roof, the crow looked down at Peerybingle.

It thought: How fortunate that man is, working with the trains. He must be very happy.

I wish it was me, thought the crow. How lucky humans are, how free.

I agree with the flying crow for some nice birdview pictures of the Farthing scenes.

But maybe the crow has some more talents that are usable. For instance

Nice animation. Isn't it interesting how they are smoking? Can you imagine that in a cartoon today?!

Disney and Get Carter. We do get around here on RMweb, don't we? :-)

Yes, we get around here.

Today this kind of cartoons are not done, Caribbean () stereotype smoking characters.

But on your Farthings diorama's you may create children labour, now not done in Western society

In my 1950's Northall story I have created women that are all day at home taking care of their family and house. Now most woman work out doors.

Times are changing .......

Yep, and thankfully some of the changes are good!

Steam locomotives are also very politically incorrect. They (i) polluted the world and (ii) helped expand imperialism. But I love them :-)

Hi Mikkel,

what a tonic - just the little lift I needed (very worrying time with my very poorly Mom at the moment).  Haven't been on RMweb for a wee while so it was great to see another Farthing episode.

That first picture is just pure 'X' Factor!  The other favorite is the clear blue sky with the bird through the skylight.  It's a wonderful world - Farthing - and it just gets better with every episode.  It's certainly worth the wait between postings although I wish the intervening periods weren't so long!  Just keep them coming Mikkel.

Great stuff from the master modeller and story teller as per usual.

Hi Mike, very sorry to hear about your Mom, I hope she recovers.

Glad you liked the pics, I'm at that stage in the modelling cycle where there's finally something to show. Work is crazy these days though, so not much time to play.

I was impressed (but not surprised) to see your work on the frontpage of the new Finescale Review. I haven't got the magazine yet, but just from the promo it looks fantastic. I like the intended scope of the magazine, sounds attractive.
