I had a good session fitted a few of the castings and made up the back head.

I was really disappointed with what was in the kit, there was a cast and etched backhead the etched one would of bee even more work. There was two sets of whitemetal casting each containing a hand wheel an undersize boiler feed and a blob. I think the brake valve was in the kit but not sure now. I modified the brake valve, and added the other bits whitemetal scrap bucket that I cast into weights for my locos.

There was no regulator or steam manifold. There was a reverser but for some reason a lever one not screw. I got a pair of gauge glasses from the spares box along with two boiler feeds that could be adapted to something closer to LNER looking items.

The reverser was made and added the other day, so I made up the header and other bits to look a little like the parts that should be there. A bit of cursing and and hot fingers we managed to get this. I even made a heat shield for the driver, so he better be thankful when he gets there.

The Brake standard will be fitted next session. Then the cab will be just about done.

I must say my parts box has not been bashed so heavily for a long time I must start restocking.

I did not get a chance to photo the other work so that will be another update. Should be about wrapped next session at the bench. Or I hope it will be.

Lovely looking pipe work makes for a very convincing looking back head!

Thanks Dave

I think you have to do your best inside a cab these days. Long gone are the great empty voids.
