  1. That last photo is absolutely lovely. Definitely want to see more like this. Mike
  2. I like the back scene, it definitely adds to that section of the layout. I also agree with you that it would be better a shade lighter. Will it be fixed permanently when it is right? Mike
  3. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing it with us. Mike
  4. Hi Guys, Just found this thread and had an enjoyable time catching up on your progress. I will be keeping an eye on your progress from now on, as I particularly like the work you have done. Mike
  5. That section is really coming along nicely now. Very impressed! Mike
  6. That section is really beginning to look good. Mike
  7. On an iPad you can use the Youtube app or even capture, both of which allow uploads to youtube. Hope that helps. Mike
  8. Just found this thread and had an enjoyable time reading my way through it. I really like the work you have done and will be following this from now on. Mike
  9. That does look good. Nothing wrong with a bit of remodelling, if it feels the right thing to do. Mike
  10. The detail shown in the above photograph is fantastic. Strange how these electronic incidents happen to cause confusion! Mike
  11. As promised the third video clip is also available. For the first time I have run two class 20's together. I will need to work on their CV's to get them running at the same speed, as they are not currently doing so. A job for Christmas! https://youtu.be/cEhWySfNBp4 Mike
  12. A bit of an update is finally possible, on my last day in the UK until Christmas. Weather has been lovely, but not for progress on the layout!! Any way, I have relaid the track at Walnut Grove station and will need to re-bed the platforms, at later date. The above is an aerial view of the one end. Below is the other end of the station. The final one shows the station which is the original Metcalfe kit in red brick, but with the scalescenes printed paper overlaid. Also in the station is a Class 105. I have also managed to fit some more decoders to some locos. The class 31, seen hauling a rake of coaches into the fiddle yard. https://youtu.be/s48jUrNwFus The class 55 performing the same task. https://youtu.be/cu-C7PHRPKc There is a third video clip, but that has not uploaded yet, so I will add it when it has. Mike
  13. Love the videos and the update. Looking forward to more. Mike
  14. Last two photos in black and white are fantastic. Mike
  15. Very slow progress, mainly due to the lovely warm weather and the need to do some work in the garden. That said I have started adding the stone facing to the rear bridges as well as joining them together. More progress in the near future, hopefully, and possibly even some photos to go with it! Mike
  16. Work has been slow on the layout so far. Mainly because of having other things to sort out having been away for six months! Anyway, one area that I have been considering for sometime is the mainline switching from the front of the loft to the back. I have now come up with a solution, which seems to work, as shown in the photo. This will need wiring up, the actual sides of the viaducts making up, catenary for the OHLE equipment fitting and scenery adding! Not much to do! Before that can happen I need to finish sorting the branchline which runs under this section. That mens fitting a point motor, ballasting the track and also the scenery under the bridge which is to the right of the picture. Hopefully progress will be made on this soon. Mike
  17. Lovely photo of the trackside of the station from the embankment. Mike
  18. Finally back and with the weather as it is, I might even manage to make some progress. Whilst I have been away I have managed to make some more purchases. Most of early train travel was from Birmingham New Street, often behind a Class 85, so the layout had to have one! It does now mean I will have to raise a few bridges, as well as fit OHLE equipment, overtime! To start with it does give me an excuse to have the Class 85 pulled by a diesel instead! Behind the loco are some Mark 2e and 2d coaches on the approach to the fiddle yard. This shows the train in Lilac Grove station on the mainline which will be electrified. It will mean I will also be able to run EMU's in the future, once I have purchased a couple of kits and built and painted them! This footbridge will need to be raised a little for clearance sake! I also purchased some plasitkard to complete the viaduct. Unfortunately I managed to order granite sets! It just means that there will be some cobbled sections on the layout, when I have decided where and get around to doing it. Just means I will have to put in another order at some point some. Hopefully some more updates soon, although the first task is non photogenic as it will be to finish off the wiring on the track that is currently laid. Mike
  19. Some great photos of both the trains and the scenery. Reminds me of how far I still have to go with my layout! Mike
  20. Not a clue about the Jinty, although as it was an LMS loco and Barmouth was GWR country, not too likely, I think. Like the Class 25's on the bridge though. Mike
  21. If it will annoy you yes, if not, then no! I do seem to recollect seeing the colour of the one on the right before, but it would have been in the 70's or 80's, so I can't be sure. Mike
  22. Good to see the progress you are making. I like the camber idea,it works well. I agree with LongRail about the use of the finer N gauge ballast. Mike
  23. Those signs really do look good. The whole layout is so full of life, it is the standard to aim for, well for me anyway! Mike
