  1. Will, Good gracious, yes. I'd never noticed that, but then again this: has generally been my reference for J70's, which has a much more pronounced cylinder cover, and the other images I had found show much the same arrangement of access hatches. You learn something every day. (It also means that the 80.0 is actually a better fit than I thought it was) Ed
  2. Not sure there is one. You could possibly use a fleischmann class 80.0, which seems to have a wheelbase you could cut down, or you could use a more modern power bogie. In 4mm, when I have the finances, I'm going to use a BullAnt from hollywood foundry. Just incidentally, your post identified the Tram as a Y6, which the design of the sideskirts shows it to be, but it has the six wheels of a J70.
  3. Drawing to mind the writings of Ian Rice on the subject of building loco chassis - IRL the actual vertical movement of the wheels is very small indeed - a matter of inches. The overwhelming majority of suspension in a railway is actually provided by the PW itself, and the wobble of a poorly compensated chassis is one of the strange things we of the P4 fraternity are willing to put up with in our models.
  4. I've a couple of D&S 6w GNR stock with pretty much that arrangement. With a little bit of weight the chassis' hold the track like mountain-goats.
