  1. Photo charter on the Watercress Line the other week. A dark/damp late afternoon suddenly improved by a spectacular sunset! Several happy snappers....
  2. Deltics and semaphores; does it get any better for a 'spotter' born in the late 1950's?!! Wonderful photos, thanks for posting. Andy
  3. After several weeks of missing it, managed a 'grab shot' of the only 444 in SWR 'grey' at Eastleigh today!
  4. Nice to see the preserved “Hastings” DEMU out on the mainline yesterday; a first for me.
  5. ...and one from KWVR, my first visit since the early 1980's!
  6. Few phots from recent trip 'oop north'!
  7. Along similar lines, I love the caption on C7868; ...."extra Derby to York 3rd Aug".... wonder when last time 'extra' services were run? Best wishes, Andy
  8. Many thanks for info; will try and sneak in a quick trip during the summer! Seeing remnants of the 'steam age' in terms of infrastructure is becoming increasingly challenging!!
  9. Yes, a nice selection of photos of an area I am unfamiliar with. Looks like the semaphores don't have much longer to go?
  10. Also pretty cold 270 miles south of you in Hampshire this afternoon....!
  11. Another couple from Hampshire.... (well, one from Bath....!)
  12. Couple more from Berks and Hants this week; even found the sun!!
  13. Saw quite a few during the 1 1/2 hours I was photting on the Berks and Hants yesterday.
  14. Aah, so that's where it came from! Popped into Bewdley whilst on family duties on Saturday and noticed the change of stock in the yard. Many thanks for the explanation and intentions regarding what to do with the crane etc. An interesting set of trucks!
  15. A gloomy couple of hours on the Berks & Hants today. Quite surprised to see as many HSTs operating services to/from the west during the couple of hours I was there.
  16. Couple at Burrs from a very 'damp' spring gala last weekend....
  17. David, many thanks for the images of the Grantham - Nottingham line. I must admit, that 'back in the day' I found that traveling along this line was tedious with little of interest as we made our way from Brum to Grantham for a days spotting on the ECML and the anticipation of seeing 'Dellies' hammering through! This was the early 1970's so we had missed seeing Gresley's finest by a decade!! I now wish we had paid more attention to the really interesting infrastructure at the time! Thanks again, Andy
  18. Nipped over to Eastleigh at lunchtime to see 180112 on 5Q54 Eastleigh TRSMD to Bounds Green and was fortunate to photo a couple of 66s passing the unit. Unit looked smart BTW!
  19. Couple of early morning 'low light' shots from Campbell Road bridge last week. North Hampshire got a lot more of the 'white stuff' later on Friday!
  20. Hi David, looks like your photos have worked OK on the 'new look' website! Love the picture of Sleekburn Viaduct! My brother-in-law lives in Morpeth and when visiting Northumberland I've tried to get a photo of the viaduct with a train for a number of years without success! He notes that his Dad used to cross the river using the viaduct when coming back from the pub 'back in the day!! Thanks again for the wonderful photos, Andy
