  1. Yeah definitely agree with that. It might be small/simple, but it's brilliant modelling. The only thing giving the picture below away is the the sky, other than this it could be the real thing. All the best, Dave
  2. It's only my opinion, but simple done well is something that looks great on a layout. A plausible and well modelled background, which is not distracting attention too much from the main focus (the trains) works well. Top stuff with the OHLE. All the best, Dave
  3. Ah yeah, a bit more to do than I imagined😅, looking at the photo from the other perspective was a bit deceiving, I thought it looked close to finished. Looks good now the rest of the fence is in👍. All the best, Dave
  4. Another great video Jeremy 👍. I noticed a steuerwagon at 3:34 that I didn't think existed in n gauge. Is that a RTR model (PIKO maybe?) Or is that something you've made/modified yourself? I'd appreciate the number if it's RTR stock so that I can look out for it. All the best, Dave
  5. Apologies again for my post earlier today Mike. Brilliant layout, lots of nice details without distracting too much attention away from the trains. I also like the clever cover to skip on the wires👍. All the best, Dave
  6. Mike I am very sorry, I was reading your message whilst getting bumped around on the tram earlier. The Revolution and the B combined with me skim reading with blurred vision was a bad mix. I've just found it thanks, I don't know how that one passed me by, cracking layout 👍. All the best, Dave
  7. Hi Ben, The 59 looks great. Your layout looks supurb as well, is there anywhere to follow it? does it have a thread anywhere? All the best, Dave
  8. Amazing modeling sir. That's very impressive 👍. All the best, Dave
  9. Great set of photos, I especially like this one 👍. The layouts coming along nicely isn't it. The fence looks good, how long is the section that's in already ? It's hard to judge scale in the photo, but it already looks like you've got a good stretch of it done. All the best, Dave
  10. Hi Niel, you have a lot of different threads and this one has past me by, so I've just enjoyed catching up with it. Brilliant modelling. The 37s look spot on 👍. All the best, Dave
  11. Top modelling, They look great! I like the shaping of the foam before the gravel goes on, makes it look very realistic compared to a standard 'dome' shape. All the best, Dave
  12. Just stumbled upon your thread, top stuff! I've only had time to read the last page and a half, but I will look forward to sitting down and going back through the rest when I get time. All the best, Dave
  13. That's a really nice idea Graham, I like that. Great use of space and some additional interest to the layout. All the best, Dave
  14. That is a very kind offer thank you, I will PM you. All the best, Dave
  15. I never had issue with code 55 and Nbrass ramps on my previous layout either. Even on this layout the only issue so far is the 321s, everything else seems ok. Maybe the 321s are lower than other stock to keep the motor and running gear below the windows? I think you are right about the code 80 in disguise comment. The 0.38mm isn't much in rail height, but I think the distance to the top surface of the sleepers is greater than this. All the best, Dave
  16. Ah ok, sorry I misunderstood. Nothing further yet, but I will get back to it before too long. Good luck with getting the wires up on West Park, I hope it all goes well and I will be following your updates. All the best, Dave
  17. Yeah I agree about the 321, there is a lot of detail in the model, but most of it gets lost somehow and a little weathering bring it all out. A few pictures next to an untouched one below. The wires were coming on a month or so ago, hopefully you can see them in the picture above with the class 31. Not absolutely perfect, but definitely give a nice impression. The branchline upto the station is done, but I needed a break from it. It was taking a lot of my patience and is a very fiddly job, so I decided to do a bit of stock before starting again. I'm glad I did take a break from it because changing the AWS ramps under the wires would have been very awkward. All the best, Dave
  18. Thanks Graham, I like the locos I've rebadged or added details to most of all and this one's one of the best I've managed to do so far. The layout is very crudely run end to end at the moment with 'add on' mini fiddle yards at each end, but I am working on having a permanent fiddle yard with the storage below the layout and a 1meter Dia spiral to bring the trains upto the layout. I don't know if it will actually work or not, but it seemed to be the best use of space. As you can see below there is a long way to go before any trains will be running on it. All the best, Dave
  19. Hi David, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. It is the Nbrass ramps that I've used, the only difference is the track is code 40. I'm hopeful that is might clear with code 55 (especially as Hunters Lane is looking absolutely supurb and it would be a shame to have to change anything). All the best, Dave
  20. Managed to get started on another 321. This time in ex NSE livery (~1998). Removing the NSE writing and badges took some patience, but it's all worked out in the end. I have really enjoyed the challenge of trying to achieve the 'clean but we'll used' look. I lined up the NSE and ex NSE 321s for a running session and found a small issue, they clashed on the AWS ramps. I will need to either modify or remove them at some point. All the best, Dave
  21. It's been slow progress on the layout, but the renovation on the room is now finished and the layout is set up again, so hopefully I will get a little more done over the winter months. Managed to get a few trains runningwhich was great. All the best, Dave
  22. Sorry it has taken a few weeks, but the layout is set up again and I got a few photos (excuse the lighting, this still needs setting up properly). All the best, Dave
  23. Good news about the backscene👍, it would of been a real shame to have had to rip out that brilliant scenic work, it is really coming along nicely. All the best, Dave
  24. Hi Paul, I am also far from a guru. But I have got away with worse on a model without issue. I assume it wouldn't pass on the real thing, but having no real passengers (and a lower roll moments in a lot of cases) all seem to help in our scaled down world's. All the best, Dave.
