  1. Brilliant to have this all in one post Keith. Such a fascinating subject
  2. I started at BRS in Marsh Barton as an HGV apprentice mechanic in 1989. I really need to get one of those!
  3. I’ve just been catching up with the thread and wanted to thank you for the photos and your input. I find myself lost in the days of my youth looking through the images. Nick
  4. It’s a really unusual and original thing to model Chris. I really like it. 👍
  5. I put it through my carriage washer too many times to take it back now!
  6. Thanks for that. Yes all Farish. 👍 D815 “Deplorable”
  7. I took a few photos yesterday, then looked through the last four pages of this thread as I hadn’t looked at for a while. The quality of modelling on here is so good that I had to borrow Mrs C’s newer phone this morning and try again! Anyway I bought myself a Warship the other day and it’s been on Exeter to Ilfracombe services this weekend: A sunny morning in Devon: A train in the scenery (the VW didn’t make it to the bridge in time):
  8. Why didn’t I think of that? 😄 ”I’m sorry Dobbin but it’s too early.” ”Neigh it isn’t!”
  9. I was trying to think of a funny caption for this but I didn’t want to trot out some tired old pun…
  10. Along similar lines is this set of buffers in the weeds at Lapford: There’s a couple more rail remnants in the car park near the bridge but unfortunately I haven’t got any decent photos of them.
  11. Near enough. I walked past it yesterday and couldn’t resist. I think it’s quite hard to find normally. 😉
  12. I wonder if anyone knows where this is..?
  13. It occurred to me yesterday (and it made me smile), that I’ve always got at least one bottle of window cleaner in the cupboard under the sink. Yet I don’t think I’ve ever actually bought any in my entire life. Where do they come from?
  14. We had a great time yesterday and thank you to you and the team for organising everything. It was friendly, well organised and the standard of layouts was really high. I know that Paul was really made up to have won the trophy this year. Obviously that’s not why any of us do these things but the fact that people liked Moors View so much has really been heart warming for us. That’s an excellent show you’ve got up there! Nick
  15. Quite an expensive job getting hold of all those cars as well Chris. It looks really good though.
  16. A nice turn out and only one N gauge loco to shout at so far. Probably effected by snowy conditions…
  17. Yarde Farm is at the main line end of the Silverton Mill line, whereas the mill at Hele is a completely different site (a few miles further north). Yes though, the track at Hele was probably used in the 1980s by the loader after it was disconnected from the main line - to supply the boilers at the mill (at Hele). However the other site (Silverton mill) doesn’t seem to have received any kind of rail related traffic post 1967 (or possibly before). As clear as mud? Possibly at this time of night…
  18. Thanks for the information there Jeremy. Those interiors look beautiful.
  19. Yeah, a horse got spooked and sat down on the bonnet of my friends Transit van a few years ago (it wasn’t him that spooked it). That’s put me off them a bit…
