  1. I think that's what it was supposed to say but the guy in charge of sticking it on the sides was German...
  2. With the recent reopening of the Balcony at the Railway Museum overlooking the railway outside York station, I thought I'd try and get a few photos of trains today. Class 66 66651 on 6M16. Class 805 805006 on test. And this yellow thing
  3. Good news, It's been confirmed it's coming back and that it'll feature at the Diesel Gala. So, it'll probably turn up again something in the next few weeks. Staying on the topic of 31s on the 'Moors', Here's 31466 at Grosmont on 28/04/24.
  4. Now all the guest locomotives have been announced, I can now tell you all. For simplicity's sake, I've done it in numerical order. They are: Class 14 D9537 Class 20s 20142 & 20189 Class 45 45108 Class 55 "Deltic" 55009 'Alycidion' (masquerading as 55013 The Black Watch) Home fleet is: Class 25 D7628 'Sybilla' Class 31 31128 'Charybdis' (now confirmed to be returning) Class 31 31466 Class 37 37264 Class 47 47077 'North Star' It's also been revealed that 55009 will be staying at the railway for a few weeks to help with services.
  5. I've just bought the edition of Railway Modeller that your layout is in. Loving the article. It's really interesting reading about its construction and how you run it.
  6. Don't know of this has been covered on here yet, but the lamp room at Eardington station, located on the Severn Valley Railway, was raided and a large number of items were stolen on 15/04/24. The items included a dozen loco lamps, a cast iron door sign, brass oil cans, a milk churn and an enamelled advertising sign along with a toolbox of spare parts that have been accumulated over the last 20 years. Also, just a few days earlier, Hampton Loade was also subject to a theft in which cast-iron signage was taken. https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2024/04/thieves-raid-popular-shropshire-railway-station.html#google_vignette
  7. As AYmod has posted earlier, there is a Class 47 named Beeching's Legacy (kind of funny as the Class 47 helped to replace the steam locos that Beeching got rid of)
  8. They've only just repainted it! But yes, It would look in "Dutch"
  9. Photo is a bit rubbish but got a proper look at 37264 today.
  10. Got my first glimpse of 37264 in its new BR blue livery on Easter Monday. Unfortunately, there were carriages in the way so I couldn't see it properly.
  11. It is with deep regret that I unfortunately have decided to sell Oxendale. This is due to space not being available for it. It will be sold with all the buildings and accessories (people, police box, platform benches and lamps etc) but not the controllers, vehicles and rolling stock. Asking price is currently £500. You'll have to come and collect it as I won't be able to transport it anywhere.

  13. It has got its TOPs number on already. unless you mean its old BR number (D6964?). I'll be honest, the BR large logo livery, although it's a good livery, was looking a bit faded. The guys have done a great job and I can't wait to see '264 back in service.
  14. I think it's alright. The red and black parts are good but I think the grey is too light. Maybe if they changed it to a darker grey, it would look better. I don't know why they repainted it from BR blue but there's probably a reason for it out there somewhere.
  15. 37418 An Comunn Gaidhealach, in its new livery, passing through Bridlington enroute to Scarborough with Caroline in tow on 22/02/24.
  16. I visited the museum yesterday and asked one of the volunteers if they would be getting a new workshop. He said that the museum currently don't have any plans to. So that'll be a no. In more positive news, I was also told that the balcony overlooking the real railway should reopen sometime this month.
  17. Update: I now know the identity of one of the guest locos and it's been confirmed that it will be going. I'm going to wait until the NYMR officially says it before I tell you all.
  18. I wasn't trying to. As a volunteer. I think I'm actually being treated well: I haven't come across anyone who's been nasty to me yet.
  19. We're already on talks with the owners of, hopefully, 2 guest locos. I can't say anything at the moment but think they're a brilliant choice.
  20. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway's Annual Steam Gala is on again. It will be held from 26th to 29th September. Home Fleet locos expected to be running are: Brussels Tramway 0-4-0VBT 8 Lucie Lampton Tank 0-6-2T 29 SR Schools 4-4-0 926 Repton J27 0-6-0 2238 LMS Black 5 4-6-0 5428 Eric Treacy LMS Black 5 4-6-0 44806 BR Standard 4 tank 2-6-4T 80136 BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 92134 No guest locos have been announced yet.
