  1. So, my sketch for the inside of the RTOV looks like this..... The cubicle/shower? covers approximately the same area as 1 seating bay. Where the blanked-out window is. The cooker is behind the blanked-out window on the other side. Does this look about right ?? Any help gratefully received ! Cheers, Phil.
  2. Thanks Jim. I'll do a sketch of what I reckon the inside of the RTOV looks like, and put it on here for you to comment on.....😉 I'm sure Mick is more organised than me too !! Cheers, Phil.
  3. If you find them before I finish it, please show me.... If you find them after I've finished it, if I've got it wrong, please keep them to yourself....😅😅😅 Seriously, if you do find them, please share..... Cheers, Phil.
  4. If you do find one, please share..... Cheers, Phil.
  5. 977868..... I'm also planning the interior for the RTOV. Cheers, Phil.
  6. So, another set of barely legible notes have been made.... Representing an un-educated guess to the internal layout, definitely based more on guesstimate than fact, but it'll do for now ! Seats have been removed, leaving as much of the original material as possible to aid strength. New floor as been added, and a start made on the painting. Cheers, Phil.
  7. Always had an interest in the prototype stuff..... The models have enough to do to make them more fulfilling than just a straight repaint..... Cheers, Phil.
  8. The jumper cables wee added next.... Followed by the handrails, before final re-assembly.... That's the outside all sorted, just need to figure out what to do with this.... Cheers, Phil.
  9. If you have an interior layout plan of 9703, that would be most useful !! In fact, the interiors of any test vehicles are most elusive, I've no idea if my 9523 is anywhere near close to correct. Even the colours are a guess. I'm making an uneducated guess at the inside of 977868, based mainly on Jack's pics above. Cheers, Phil.
  10. They're all Hornby models, I won't be swapping them for Accurascale ones.....😆 Although I do have their H&H 'Thunderer' on order, as I figure it won't be seen in close proximity to the others, it won't show the others up ! Cheers, Phil.
  11. Just found this pic, from when I got to one of each member of the class..... Cheers, Phil.
  12. Over the last few days, the Black has been sprayed on the coach ends, transfers have been applied, the sides have had a coat of Satin varnish, the roof and the chassis has had a coat of matt varnish. The steps and roof bits have been detail-painted White too. While I was at it, the RTOV has had the steps painted Black, just leaving the edge White, instead of being totally White as supplied. It also had Matt varnish applied to the roof and chassis. Cheers, Phil.
  13. Cheers Jack !! Serves me right for using a coach fitted with lights !! 😃 Cheers, Phil.
  14. Roof done.... Masked up ready. I tend to mask onto the cantrail strip instead of below it, as I figure it's easier to paint the Orange stripe onto a Yellow base colour, rather than a Grey one.... First pass of the spraygun, making sure to cover the edges of the detail that stands proud of the roof.... That was followed by doing the other 3 directions, with a gentle hairdryer blast inbetween each one, so as not to lift the masking. Then the rest was covered, resulting in.... Masking removed.... Cheers, Phil.
  15. 68027, at Dewsbury yesterday, on its way from Manchester to Scarborough. Cheers, Phil.
  16. A 158 waits in the bay at Huddersfield, before departing for Sheffield via Barnsley, yesterday. Cheers, Phil.
  17. No bother, any questions, just ask. 😉 Just for info, the total amount of liquid used was 1.5ml of Yellow paint mixed with 1ml of White Spirit. Cheers, Phil.
  18. It’s all done in one go. I just do the awkward bits first ! I actually do the upward faces first ( window recess, bottom of window frame, under the lip of the cantrail, etc.), then dry with the hairdryer, then do all the downward faces, hairdryer blast, left facing faces, hairdryer, right facing faces, hairdryer, cover all the ‘flat’ faces, hairdryer, then a final waft over everywhere, hairdryer, then into a plastic box for a rest in the airing cupboard to fully cure….. No more than half an hour, start to finish. cheers, Phil.
  19. The Yellow has gone on..... Started by going around the raised and recessed bits. Upper and lower edges of window recesses, etc, first... Quick blast with a hairdryer, then the sides of the recesses were done... Happy enough with the filled-in window... Another blast of hairdryer, then the rest was covered... This 'window' got a coat of a slightly lighter shade of Yellow.... Cheers, Phil.
  20. Definitely looked worse after priming 😅 But a couple more rounds of filling/sanding made it good enough for me.... Cheers, Phil.
  21. Not nameplates, or numbers ! (well maybe one number !) But hopefully of interest.... Cheers, Phil.
  22. Don't suppose anyone has any info on what the inside of 977868 looks like ?? Cheers, Phil.
  23. That one is definitely worth keeping !!😜 Cheers, Phil.
  24. And I bet, like me, you never throw any of them away ! 😆 Cheers, Phil.
  25. Don't seem to have got too much done lately, just weathered 37418 but didn't take any pics....😏 Did bring the RTOV from Dad's, to add the detailing parts, etc. Which got me thinking about doing another coach for the 'Yellow' train. So, as mentioned a couple of pages back, 977868 is joining the test train fleet. Start point of the project was producing a highly detailed, technical drawing.... Before the donor was dismantled and dipped in SuperStrip.... No doubt this will look much worse after a coat of Primer....😆 Alterations made to the roof.... Cheers, Phil.
