BEEEEAAAAASSSSSTTTTTTT !!!!!! ππ Pretty sure that's the condition she was in the one and only time I had her for haulage on the 'proper' railway...... You should know..... That's the only model I've ever seen of her in that livery, I really should do have one too... Cheers, Phil.

For someone that says he 'doesn't know what he's doing, and doesn't know how to do it', I reckon it's all coming along rather nicely......ππ Cheers, Phil.

Class 68 Photos and videos
Phil Mc replied to GWRPhil's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
It's not NORTHERN, it's TPE, which have replaced the class 68 hauled services, with class 185 units. Cheers, Phil. -
Unusual loco's used on rail tours over the S&C
Phil Mc replied to TravisM's topic in Settle & Carlisle route
Just a few of the loco's used over the Saturday's mentioned above..... D7672 26007 37104 56075 58036 IIRC, it was two freight loco's per weekend, so for us at the Southern end of the S&C, it was a case of catching the morning northbound run from Leeds, bail off at Keighley, to catch the Southbound service, then spend the rest of the day doing a West Yorkshire Rover......πππ cheers, Phil. -
All back in one piece. It may get a little weathering the next time the airbrush makes an appearance, but not much. Cheers, Phil.

The 3d transfers for the Hymek have arrived, they even include the Blue 'D' ( excellent service from Steve at Railtec as ever ! ) Numbers and data panels applied.... Cheers, Phil.

Mark 2b, By Accurascale and IRM!
Phil Mc replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Had the invoice today for the remaining balance for the RTC pair, so hopefully they're not too far away ! Cheers, Phil. -
Bit more done to the Hymek.... The NEM pocket is on a sprung cam arrangement, connected to the bogie, which also has a representation of the airtank on it.... So I ragged that off !!!.... the airtank is a seperate part, glued to the pocket, so I removed it, and glued a piece of plasticard in the recess. After painting the tank White, and then the plasticard Black, it was glued to the back of the lip on the chassis block. The bufferbeam is a seperate piece, which makes it much easier to add the various pipework, as well as homemade cabling and coupling backplate.... I might well swap the supplied coupling for a better one.... Cheers, Phil.

Thanks ! The interior parts came from a company called β3DPRINTINGCORNER.CO.UKβ. I originally found them on eBay, but they can be ordered direct from their websiteβ¦. Careful though, thereβs all sorts of random lovely things to orderβ¦β¦π cheers, Phil.

Thanks for the kind words (& the help) Gave them a run last night, after fitting mag couplings. Corridor connections almost touching on the straights, and negotiated all pointwork with ease, pushing or pulling, so I was happyβ¦. Then it dawned on me, Iβve no idea if the interior of my 9523 is correctβ¦β¦.π€£ Cheers, Phil.

Yes, there's a definite improvement with the later models. Got 2 or 3 from each batch, and you can hear the difference over less than perfect pointwork. Cheers, Phil.

Something to go on our 'museum' DCC layout next.... Which is just used as an excuse to have stuff we like, but that doesn't 'fit' with the era or area we model ! D7076 is the loco in question. There isn't exactly a lot of room in the body for a speaker, so I investigated the possibility of fitting one in the fuel tank area. Stripping the tank into its 3 component parts, I figured a Rail Exclusive 'baby boomer' speaker would just fit. Tank in pieces.... Had to file some strengthening ribs off the inside of the tank pieces to make room, and put notches in the appropriate places for the wires.... The side pieces clip onto the underside of the chassis.... Leaving just enough room for the speaker to go in between.... My plan was to leave off the centre section of the fuel tank, and just paint the Grey plastic speaker housing Black. I also intended drilling a hole through the chassis for the wires. But after checking, I saw there was enough room to route the wires through the hole where the bogie is attached.... Also, fitting the centre section of the fuel tank back in place, made no difference to the speaker volume, so that's what I did.... Also fitted a cab light, and driver figure. Cheers, Phil.

9703 has been completed. Seats removed, and new floor added, then the 'shower cubicle' was added. The kitchen area had to be sunk into the floor, to get the worktop to the correct height in relation to the windows... Cheers, Phil.
-
Then it was time to rebuild the coach, and see if it was actually worth the effort !! π At least I know it's there !! Cheers, Phil.

Had a piece of plastic box-section the correct width to make the worktop, to replace the desks. Cut it to form a [ shape, but with a wide top, giving me a base to glue to the floor. Original shape, and the piece removed.... Glued in place and painted.... (Bulkheads also painted Black to match the pic.) Other interior details glued in place.... Cheers, Phil.

Class 50, By Accurascale

I've no idea where I got this pic from, but it's definitely a 50, and that fan is definitely a funny shade of Red.....π΅ Cheers, Phil. -
Found an interior pic of 977868, which shows that the desks are actually one long counter worktop, and that the loose seats look remarkably like 3 loco driving seats bolted to the floor !! Bit of re-working to be doneβ¦. Cheers, Phil.

I'm fully aware that this is probably a pointless exercise, and OTT, but I'll know it's there......ππ This is the set-up I'm going for in 977868..... Painting next. Cheers, Phil.

Class 69 - Return of the body snatchers?

Thanks for the info Jim, much appreciated !! I think Mick will be rolling his eyes at me, for not modelling a specific formation anyway, so I reckon I can get away with leaving the inside of the luggage area as-is....π Cheers, Phil.
